No one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it. St John Ambulance teaches people first aid so they can be the difference between life and death, and you can help us do this.

We are seeking volunteer Nurses to lead outreach shifts providing specialist, clinical, social and holistic care to our homeless clients.

Homeless Service Nurses shall provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care and undertake clinical assessment and interventions in the pre-hospital environment.

Full training received in Homelessness Awareness and other local services. Regular updates and team meetings.

Successful candidates will be registered nurses with the NMC and complete all CQC checks. 

Upon successful application, we'll require evidence of DBS and then training will be scheduled. You will shadow several shifts, only leading a shift once training is complete and you felt confident to do so. Training given in Homelessness Awareness, Safeguarding and service referrals / signposting. Additional First Aid training as desired.

There is mandatory training in 'Homelessness Awareness' and a short online medicines management module. Other training is available as desired. Shadow shifts would be undertaken before a nurse was required to lead a clinic. Quarterly team meeting attendance desirable.
