Job description

The Namaste Care Service provides practical, social and emotional support to improve the quality of lives of local people who are affected by advanced dementia.

We are seeking patient, sensitive and sympathetic volunteers to join our team which strives to improve the lives of people with dementia with Namaste Care. This is not a medical treatment, but an internationally recognised programme which uses both relaxing and stimulating techniques. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given.

 

What will I be doing?

  • Making a memory box of familiar objects & favourite pictures.

  • Giving relaxing hand massage.

  • Using favourite and seasonal fragrances.

  • Hair brushing and face washing.

What commitment will I need to give?

  • Minimum of 2 hours a week for at least 1 year.

  • Attendance at supervision sessions for 1-2 hours each month.
