Job Description

We're looking for a volunteer Development Manager to join our growing team and secure Stay Brave's fundraising success! 

Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 2 hours per week (possibly more if during a busy period)
Type: Voluntary

Charity Background

We’re a young charity wanting to take a modern approach to abuse & exploitation prevention.
Stay Brave focuses on campaigning and working with legislatures and services to develop better
policies for all survivors to ensure that they have access to the services they need. We work to
make sure that any survivor of abuse, regardless of gender or orientation, gets the help they
need and respect they deserve.

You’ll be joining Stay Brave at an exciting time as we implement and deliver on an ambitious 3-
year growth strategy and extending our reach to better serve our moral ownership – those
affected by abuse and exploitation.

This is a start-up, entrepreneurial setting and the core team will be you, our Chief Executive and
a team of 6 volunteers. Currently Stay Brave is 100% volunteer-led.


The purpose of the Development Manager role is to, alongside the Chief Executive, help deliver
our first ever fundraising strategy and to build on this strategy going forward. You will provide
excellent donor experiences at all touch points and help us to test a variety of fundraising
activities with a range of new audiences.

We use our donations responsibly and ensure they make the greatest impact where they are
most needed. You will help us create new and cultivate existing fundraising avenues and make
sure they are stable for the charity to build on. You will also help to motivate and engage our
current donors and volunteers by providing tailored and engaging reports, updates and
information on the impact of their support. There’ll also be a chance to engage new donors by
identifying those interested in abuse prevention and inspiring them to support the charity.
