You will join a team whose mission is to enable vulnerable women to transform their lives and reach their full potential. We empower and inspire women to make positive choices, creating a better future for themselves, their children, their families and the communities in which they live.


You will be a member of the Stepping Stones Trustee board who meet approximately 6 times a year.

As a member of the trustee board you will have some general trustee responsibilities. These include ensuring that Stepping Stones complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations. You will also contribute actively to the board of trustees' role in giving firm strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets.

In addition to this, as Chair of Trustees you will be also provide leadership and direction to the board of Trustees. The Chair’s aim is to enable the board to fulfil their responsibilities for the overall governance and strategic direction of the organisation. The Chair will ensure that the organisation complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and any other relevant legislation or regulations and to make sure that the organisation pursues its objects as defined in its governing document. The Chair's will also to work in partnership with the Head of Service, helping them achieve the aims of the organisation; and to optimise the relationship between the board of Trustees and the staff.
