During the course of its twenty-year history, Stopgap Dance Company has built a strong reputation in the performing arts industry nationally and internationally. Stopgap’s focus is to create exceptional artistic works with diverse artists and to offer an artistic programme that affects a wide range of audiences. The company also delivers developmental programmes for artists, teachers and the community to demonstrate the value of inclusivity.
Having received a 45% uplift in core funding from Arts Council England in 2018, the company has entered the next phase of organisational growth and is seeking new Trustees and a new talented and enthusiastic Chair to lead the Board at a very exciting point in its history.
Seeking a new Chair of the Board
The Chair is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity, along with the Board of Trustees. The Chair supports the organisation to develop its ambitious aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the governing document, legal and regulatory guidelines. The Chair acts as a safe space and a sounding board to the Executive Producer and Artistic Director.
