Street Child is dedicated to helping children in some of the world’s toughest places into education.  We are looking for a passionate and highly organised Project Assistant to volunteer in our London office to support our newest UK running series, the Craft Half.


This is an exciting time to be getting involved with the Craft Half team as we plan for our next regional and London based events for winter 2019. We are looking for a confident, personable individual who can hit the ground running and become a key part of the Craft Half organisational team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Craft Half team in researching and confirming regional venues for upcoming Craft Half Events

  • Supporting the team in event management of Craft Half events

  • Supporting the team in marketing and promotion of the Craft Half

  • Taking part in innovation and ideas sessions

  • Administration of ad hoc duties to support the smooth running of the office

Person Specification:

Successful candidates will have:

  • Excellent communication skills and a highly professional manner;

  • Highly organised.

  • Excellent time management.

  • Confident, personable individual

  • Self-motivated and pro-active, with the ability to work as part of a team.

  • Strong administrative and numerical skills, and a proven knowledge of IT systems.

  • Keen interest in understanding and contributing to the development sector

  • An interest in sports, especially running!

  • An ability to be flexible, work outside of your specific duties when needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.


We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible with the intention of committing to the role for 2-3 months, for a minimum of 3 days per week. Applications will be reviewed as we receive them. The role is voluntary, but travel expenses will be reimbursed, and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements.

Volunteer opportunities with Street Child are guaranteed to be both busy and varied and volunteers will have the opportunity to shape their own experience according to their skills, goals and knowledge. The role will provide valuable experience for someone looking to move into a career in the not-for-profit and development sectors or make a start in the communications industry.
