Breteau Foundation (Volunteer Education Content Writer and Editor)

Location: Remote or based in UK

Employment Type: Minimum 3 months commitment

Contract Type: Volunteer 

 

Background

The Breteau Foundation (BF) aims to enable disadvantaged children to reach their full potential through the delivery of digital educational tools. The Foundation is operational in 103 schools worldwide. The Volunteer Education Content Writer and Editor will be responsible for creating and editing content deployed in our Teacher Training Programme. The ideal candidate will also be able to write sector relevant content for Breteau Foundation’s blog. 

Key Responsibilities

The Volunteer Education Content Writer and Editor will work closely with our Country Programme Managers based in South Africa, Colombia and Lebanon, and support them with:

  • editing existing educational resources as well as developing content and resources for our teacher training programme

  • writing thought leadership and sector relevant content for the Foundation’s blog and other social media platforms

Qualifications, Skills and Experience 

The right candidate will need to be able to demonstrate their experience and skills relating to the responsibilities above. They will also be required to meet the relevant qualifications, skills and experience following:      

  • Experience working in the NGO sector, preferably within education  

  • Either studying a degree in education or attained a relevant qualification

  • Evidence of writing skills for blogs or social media in previous roles 

  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment 

All volunteers are required to volunteer at the Foundation for a minimum of 3 months and complete a criminal record check. For this position, we are looking for either a remote volunteer or a volunteer who has residency in the UK and who can commit to at least 1 day week.
