Activites Volunteers

Here at the Brick, we work with individuals struggling with poverty and homeless as part of own development programs, we run a wide variety of activities throughout the day to cater for all interests! Including arts & crafts, language classes, Eco team projects, film club and much more! If you're a passionate individual, who wants to share your skills with people in need then join the brick today!

Key Tasks:

  • Participate in initial and ongoing training
  • Establish appropriate boundaries and rapport
  • Provide support, guidance and encouragement in the group sessions 
  • Provide support and practical help to staff, other volunteers and group sessions leaders
  • Respect the individual's opinions, feelings and lifestyle
  • Maintain records as required, both paper and electronic
  • Liaise with Brick staff, working as a team to signpost and solve problems
  • Attend review meetings as required
  • Participate in supervision meetings as required
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Be responsible, as required, for health and safety issues, including safeguarding
  • Monitor own wellbeing and capacity and draw on Brick Project support as appropriate
  • Be a positive representative of The Brick and the Queens Hall Action on Poverty

Training and Support:

Induction training will be provided as well as ongoing training and support.

Supervision (One to One’s with Team Lead):

Supervisions are not scheduled but we encourage you to request one with your team lead or volunteer coordinator at any point you feel this would be beneficial or as and when a concern arises.


QHAP will repay the cost of travel to and from the sites for volunteering sessions.


The nature of the Volunteer Coordinator Administration Volunteer role is to assist the Volunteer Coordinator with their workload.  The volunteer in this post needs to commit to the hours agreed wherever possible so they can become a dependable and valued member of the team.

Commitment is also expected with regards to attending supervision, team meetings and training as and when required.

  • Ability to show empathy with the individual's situation

  • Flexibility and willing to help in other departments
  • Reliable and trustworthy
