Our Activities Volunteers use their can do attitude to enable people with MS to participate in local group activities by providing practical support at the event.

About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit an Activities Organiser for the West Central London Group. As an Activities Organiser, you will be to bringing together our MS community through engaging and accessible activities.

We are based in West Central London, covering the areas of Hammersmith, Fulham, Chelsea, Kensington and parts of Westminster. We are a brand new group and launched on 30th September 2018. We currently have five volunteers in the group but we want to grow to enable us to help improve those affected by MS in the local area. We are still small but we have lots that we would like to achieve in 2019.

As an Activities Organiser we are looking for someone to help promote our group, assist our fundraising team in organising events and other events for our local members and people affected by MS.

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with our group. We are looking to build on our current to team of volunteers within in the group so we can help support local people who are affected by MS and on a national level. We have big visions for our group. You will have a passion for organising events at a local level. Our current volunteers, who you will be volunteering alongside with are, the Group Coordinator, Finance, Communications and Health and Safety.

As a group we currently meet once a month and have two socials per month. We estimate this role needs roughly 6 hours per month and this may increase according to the event being organised. But we are flexible to suit your availability.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You will know of local community organisations and be able to build relationships with them.
