About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit an Activities Organiser for the Camden Group. As an Activities Organiser, you will be to bringing together our MS community through engaging and accessible activities. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
We are a small and friendly group of volunteers who meet once a month, on a Wednesday afternoon, to plan and coordinate opportunities and support for people affected by MS. We currently run two monthly social meetings and a few outings a year. We are particularly keen for someone to help us establish more activities in the borough as well as organising outings and social events to reach out to more people affected by MS. We are also keen to initiate opportunities for younger people to meet informally.
Our roles are flexible and aim to fit around you. Time commitments for this role may vary but we estimate 2-3 hours each week in planning/coordinating new activities and communicating with the Group Coordinator/the rest of coordinating team, plus 2-3 hours a month attending the monthly team meeting. The team meetings take place each months on a Wednesday at 1pm in Camden. We provide you with an induction, going support and reimburse your travel expenses.
We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS. This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones.
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and be willing to take the lead in establishing new activities in the area. You’ll be able to volunteer well in a team and willing to learn and implement our health and safety processes.
You’ll need to live in or near the Camden area or be willing to travel to the area regularly.
