About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit an Activities Volunteer for the Angus Group. As an Activities Volunteer, you will be helping out at events and activities as required.
We are a well-established group and friendly volunteer team who meet on a monthly basis to discuss the running of the group and we offer a warm welcome to anyone who would like to join us. We currently provide exercise, support and social opportunities to people affected by MS in the local area and are keen to expand our reach and develop our Support Volunteer Programme in the local area.
This role is very flexible and allows you to give as little or as much time as you can, whilst doing something incredibly worthwhile in your local area. As an Activities Volunteer, you can pick and choose the date and times during the year that you volunteer, and then simply let us know and turn up on the day. You will be given a briefing by the Group Coordinating Team, so that you know exactly what to do on the day and who else is volunteering with you. There are volunteer forums which you may wish to attend, held usually twice a year.
You will receive a welcome pack and volunteer induction, as well as regular support from our Group Coordinator and volunteer team. We pay all reasonable out of pocket expenses that you may incur whilst volunteering with us.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally.
You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers.
You’ll be friendly and welcoming and enjoy being with others to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day. You need no previous experience, just the enthusiasm to chat to people in a positive way about the support our group provides people affected by MS. You must live in or near the Angus area to carry out this role.
