Using their interpersonal and organisational skills, our Administration Volunteers are the linchpin for all local group activity. They act as the first point of contact for the group and play an important role in keeping the group’s data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.
We’re the MS Society – a community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, listeners, organisers, ambassadors and fundraisers. Our volunteers are a key part of achieving our goals and their support is vital. Join us.
About this opportunity
Are you someone who wants to help locally and use or develop your administrative skills? If yes, then this role could be perfect for you.
We are looking to recruit an Administration Volunteer for the Bridlington and District Group. As an Administration Volunteer you will be organising the admin of a group and ensuring group volunteers are aware of current agreements and activities
Our group is run by a friendly team of volunteers who fundraise and deliver a range of activities and services to support people with multiple sclerosis locally and we really need someone to help organise us! You will act as the first point of contact for our group, accessing the MS Society group email account and data and responding to emails and requests. You will also play an important role in keeping the group’s data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.
This role is home based and very flexible. Ideally, you will be able to attend a group planning meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at Applegarth Court, Bridlington at 10:00am. You'll receive a welcome, induction and training relevant to the role, ongoing support from our friendly volunteer team and local staff member. We also encourage our volunteers to claim out of pocket expenses in line with our expenses policy.
We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones.
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be a keen organiser of admin and record keeping and willing to share information with others. You will need to be comfortable using the internet and email and confident in organising the administration of a group, or willing to learn.
You must live in or near the Bridlington area to carry out this role.
