Job Description

Using their interpersonal and organisational skills, our Administration Volunteers are the linchpin for all local group activity. They act as the first point of contact for the group and play an important role in keeping the group’s data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.

We’re the MS Society – a community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, listeners, organisers, ambassadors and fundraisers. Our volunteers are a key part of achieving our goals and their support is vital. Join us.

About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit an Administration Volunteer for the West Central London Group. As an Administration Volunteer you will be organising the admin of a group and ensuring group volunteers are aware of current agreements and activities.

We are based in West Central London, covering the areas of Hammersmith, Fulham, Chelsea, Kensington and parts of Westminster. We are a brand new group and launched on 30th September 2018. We currently have five volunteers in the group but we want to grow to enable us to help improve those affected by MS in the local area. We are still small but we have lots that we would like to achieve in 2019.

As an Admin Volunteer, you will also take notes at meetings and forward them on to the rest of the team. You will also volunteer alongside our Communications Volunteer, supporting her if required. You will have access to our group email and can have your own MS society email address. You will also be willing to attend fundraising events in the future and support the fundraising team if required.

This is an exciting opportunity and time to get involved with our group. We are looking to build on our current to team of volunteers within in the group so we can help support local people who are affected by MS and on a national level. We have big visions for our group. Also in 2019 we will be looking at giving grants to help people in the local area.

As a group we currently meet once a month and have two socials per month. We estimate this role needs roughly 6 hours per month and this may increase according to the fundraising event being organised. But we are flexible to suit your availability.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be a keen organiser of admin and record keeping and willing to share information with others.

The MS Society is committed to promoting diversity. We can only offer roles to over 18s.
