Using their interpersonal and organisational skills, our Administration Volunteers are the linchpin for all local group activity. They act as the first point of contact for the group and play an important role in keeping the group’s data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.
We’re the MS Society – a community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, listeners, organisers, ambassadors and fundraisers. Our volunteers are a key part of achieving our goals and their support is vital. Join us.
About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit an Administration Volunteer for the Cheltenham and North Cotswold Group. As an Administration Volunteer you will be organising the admin of a group and ensuring group volunteers are aware of current agreements and activities.
We are a small and friendly group of about 8 volunteers who meet monthly to plan social, information and other opportunities for people affected by MS in the area. Some of our volunteers are trained to offer support and information about local services, and we provide grants to help pay for items that will have a significant positive impact on the lives of those affected by MS. We also fund a number of exercise classes and distribute a regular newsletter. We need some additional help with the administration related to these activities.
The role is very flexible and we aim to fit around you. Time commitments may vary but we estimate that it would take around 4-8 hours of your time every month. This would consist of attending the team meeting (roughly every six weeks), checking the group’s email account, keeping data and records up to date, preparing mail-outs, responding to queries as necessary, and supporting the group with any additional administrative tasks as needed.
We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones.
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be a keen organiser of admin and record keeping and willing to share information with others.
You'll need to live in the Cheltenham & District area for this role.
The MS Society is committed to promoting diversity. We can only offer roles to over 18s.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
