Using their interpersonal and organisational skills, our Administration Volunteers are the linchpin for all local group activity. They act as the first point of contact for the group and play an important role in keeping the group’s data and details up to date to comply with data protection legislation.
We’re the MS Society – a community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, listeners, organisers, ambassadors and fundraisers. Our volunteers are a key part of achieving our goals and their support is vital. Join us.
About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit an Administration Volunteer for the Bristol and South Gloucestershire Group. As an Administration Volunteer you will be organising the admin of a group and ensuring group volunteers are aware of current agreements and activities.
We are looking to recruit an Administration Volunteer to help organise the admin of the group and monitor the group’s email account to ensure that the volunteers are kept up do date with events and activities. We are a small and newly formed team of volunteers who are just beginning to get to grips with our roles. We meet monthly and have recently started some social meet ups in the City and established a Pilates class for those affected by MS in our community. We have a partnership with the Citizens Advice in Bristol and work closely with other MS Charities and health professionals.
The role is very flexible and we aim to fit around you. Time commitments may vary but we estimate that it would take around 4-8 hours of your time every month. The group meets every month (at present on a Monday at 4:30) and meetings generally last for 1.5 hours.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be a keen organiser of admin and record keeping and willing to share information with others and be comfortable using a PC.
You’ll need to live in or near the Bristol area to carry out this role.
