Great North Run - 8 September

Would you like to be cheering on our amazing MS Superstar runners at the iconic Great North Run?

We would need some enthusiastic cheerers to help us at our cheer point to cheer on almost 400 of our runners. This year we are hoping to raise over £210,000 to help beat MS.

The Great North Run is the world's most popular half marathon with a fantastic and exciting atmosphere. Our runners will start in the heart of Newcastle and finishing along the seafront at South Shields. The runners will cross over the iconic Tyne Bridge and might even see the famous Red Arrows fly past.

We want to be there every step of the way and support our MS Superstars who have invested so much time into their training and fundraising. The runners really appreciate the support they get from our cheer points so your help would be hugely appreciated by both us and the runners!

As an official MS Superstar cheerer you will be provided with cheering sticks, flags and whistles to ensure maximum cheering to make as much noise as possible when you see one of our MS Society runners! This makes a massive experience to the riders - so it's vital to show how much we appreciate their efforts. We would need cheerers at the cheer point from 10am to 2pm, however we are flexible around your availability and you can attend for as little or as long as you like during the day.

We will cover travel expenses for the volunteers who will be able to stay for the whole 4 hours. Light refreshments will also be provided to ensure your cheering levels are kept high!
