About this opportunity
Could you put your planning and communication skills to good use as our Fundraising Volunteer?
We are looking to recruit a Fundraising Volunteer for the Bridlington and District Group. As a Fundraising Volunteer, you will plan and deliver a range of fundraising activities for the group to help support the work of the MS Society locally.
We are a small, friendly team of volunteers who are passionate about providing information, support and the opportunity to meet up with other people affected by multiple Sclerosis in the Bridlington & District area.
As our Fundraising Volunteer, you could be researching and talking to prospective supporters to develop links with local organisations, understanding fundraising needs and aims to meet the groups fundraising requirements and organising and planning fundraising events throughout the year. This role is flexible and rewarding with plenty of opportunity to make a real difference to people affected by MS.
You will be volunteering at home and out and about in your local community. We are flexible about the hours and days you volunteer because we understand that you have other commitments! You will be volunteering at home and out and about in your local community. Ideally you will also be free to meet up with our volunteer planning group on the second Tuesday of the month at Applegarth Court, Bridlington at 10:00am. You will receive a welcome pack and volunteer induction, as well as regular support from your Group Coordinator and volunteer team.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be a good organiser with plenty of creative ideas, preferably with fundraising, sales or event management experience.
Ideally, we're looking for someone with excellent communication skills in order to promote activities, great organisational skills and comfortable using email and internet. You'd be a valuable resource for our friendly team, so we're also looking for someone who enjoys thinking creatively and volunteering as part of a small team.
You need to live in or near the Bridlington area to carry out this role.
