CV37, Stratford-upon-Avon
Job description

Our local groups provide services and support to make a difference for local people affected by MS. Our Group Coordinators use their local knowledge and leadership skills to organise and oversee a local group.

We’re the MS Society – a community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, listeners, organisers, ambassadors and fundraisers. Our volunteers are a key part of achieving our goals and their support is vital. Join us.

About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Group Coordinator for the Stratford Upon Avon Group. As a Group Coordinator you will be acting as an ambassador for the group, developing annual plans, leading the group’s activities and recruiting and supporting group volunteers.

We are a small, friendly and active Group looking for a Group Coordinator to take a lead on their existing events, activities and volunteers. We provide a range of exercise classes and social get togethers every month across Stratford and the Group Coordinator will work closely with all existing volunteers on the coordinating team to gain awareness of these and to make plans for the future.

Our volunteer coordinating team meet bi-monthly at a lunch time, this is a leadership role and part of this role is to chair those meetings. This role can be flexible to suit your lifestyle and on average we estimate around 2 hours a week. This role is not office based and will be based in the volunteers home and across various community venues in Stratford.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.

About you
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers. You’ll be able to coordinate and support a team of volunteers.

This role is suited to someone with existing leadership skills or looking to develop these skills. Awareness of MS is useful but not essential as there is a training and induction programme for this role. A DBS check is also required for this role.

Ideally you should live in or near the Stratford Upon Avon area.
