About this opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Volunteer for the Solihull and District Group. As a Health and Safety Volunteer, you will ensure group activities, events and premises are safe and inclusive for everyone.
We are a busy, friendly and very active local Group of volunteers running the Group arranging a wide variety of exercise and social opportunities at various times and in various locations across the Solihull area for people who are affected by MS. We are looking for a Health and Safety Volunteer to join the team and ensure all the MS Society's risk management processes are followed for all of these local activities.
This role can be flexible to fit in with your life, we estimate 1 - 2 hours a week. The volunteer team meet twice a month on a Wednesday evening and this role will also be responsible for working with local staff to arrange an annual health and safety audit.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience within a large charity and develop your existing skills and learn new ones. We need you to get involved and help make positive changes to the lives of people affected by MS.
You’ll have an interest in the MS Society and the work that we do, as well as the enthusiasm to represent both us and our values locally. You will understand the needs of people affected by MS in your area and be sympathetic to the needs and motivations of volunteers.
Ideally we are looking for someone who lives locally and has a passion for making a positive difference in their local area. Awareness of MS and training on our risk management system will be provided as part of your induction.
You’ll need to live in or near the Solihull area to carry out this role.
