Job description

We are the NeuroMuscular Centre, and we provide a range of unique services for people with muscular dystrophy and allied neuromuscular conditions. We are based in Winsford, Cheshire, and our services include physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, support and advice, training in graphic design and employment opportunities. We exist as the only centre of our kind in the UK and Europe, and our purpose is solely to enhance the quality of life for adults and young people living with this progressive condition. The cost of running this unique and inspirational charity is around £1.2 million per year. 

Our headline fundraising event is Live in the Park, an outdoor tribute concert attracting over 2000, raising around £40,000 per year and steadily growing. This year we have tributes to Madonna, David Bowie and Queen!

We are looking for a team of enthusiastic volunteers to join our team on Saturday 11th July between the hours of 4pm and midnight in a number of roles. Our volunteers are provided with all the information and support needed to fulfill their role prior to the event, plus an NMC t-shirt and refreshments on the day and the opportunity to be part of a successful and friendly fundraising team. 

We are looking for volunteers in the following areas on the day: 

  • Helping out on an NMC stall, selling merchandise and providing customer service. 

  • Hospitality service for VIP and corporate marquees 

  • Stewarding and crowd control 

  • Ticket checking/selling at the Event Entrance gates 

  • Car parking attendant 

  • Selling raffle tickets 

  • Serving artists’ refreshments backstage 

We are also looking for volunteers that would be interested in helping to promote the event in advance - distributing flyers and posters and using social media.

Experience, skills or attributes needed: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills 

  • Some previous events or customer service experience is desirable, but not essential 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Although you will be assigned a specific role, we require you to be flexible and willing to be assigned a different task at short notice.
