London, Greater London
Job description

We are passionate about supporting people who have been affected by human trafficking and/or modern slavery with practical support at a local level.

We cannot do this without the help of enthusiastic volunteers, so would you like to come and join us?

This role offers an exciting opportunity to come alongside survivors of modern slavery who have transitioned out of crisis and are moving toward rebuilding their lives and settling into London.

The Salvation Army is growing a network of community-based support, which provides survivors of modern slavery with a link to their local community and signposting to the range of available support they may need.

This daytime session will be on a specified weekday and will run for approximately 2 hours - further information will be provided to potential applicants. It gives survivors continuity of support as they are served in a group setting at the corps (church) /centre in a drop-in style format that will follow a formal programme to accommodate clients' needs.

As one of our volunteers, you will receive specialised training and regular support from our Community Hub team.

Role: Support Volunteer (reception, room host, refreshments, help desk or creche staff)

Location: Central London based - further details of the location will be given to successful applicants

Availability: Daytime session on a specified weekday over the total period of 3-4 hours with a preferred 12 month commitment period. You must also be able to attend initial training as well as further ongoing support/training.

Please note that at this time we are only accepting female applicants for our female services.
