Job description

We are looking for Connect and Support Volunteers.

Are you a caring person who could visit and support an older person with early stages of dementia.

By giving just an hour a week to visit someone, you can alleviate loneliness and social isolation.

Providing companionship to someone can improve their health and wellbeing.

Could you be someone to help change and reduce the stigma of dementia, perhaps sharing interest and hobbies, or just a simple game of dominoes.

We are looking for new Connect and Support volunteers to visit people in their own homes, motivating and encouraging an older person who has recently been discharged from hospital.

By offering positive encouragement, you can persuade them to continue with any post-hospital exercises and therefore improving independence and mobility.

Just one hour a week can make a significant difference to an older person, it can alleviate loneliness and social isolation and can really help to improve well-being.
