Job Description

Are you looking to give your time as a Trustee / Board Member to a charity with a difference?

Do you feel that giving time rather than money can be just as rewarding?

Then this is the Trustee / Board Member role for you!

We are Timebanking UK and we are the only membership organisation in the country to offer support and resources to community time banks providing inspiration, guidance and practical help. We share the learning over the past 20 years since timebanking was introduced in the UK to anyone interested in starting a time bank or to those who want to incorporate timebanking into organisations. We work alongside organisations and individuals in their local area providing operational support and clear guidance on involving people and creating mutual support networks in communities exchanging time rather than money.

Our mission is to ensure the contribution of all is valued equally giving people access to a wealth of resources from private, public and community sectors. Timebanking is a key mechanism to bring about change in public services at community level and between organisations.

Established for many years the last few have been transformational and we don’t want to stop! Become a Trustee of Timebanking UK and help our central team and current trustees continue to grow such a wonderful and rewarding movement that is Timebanking.

Having reviewed the skills of our current board trustees we are particularly interested in receiving applications from those with strong skills and professional experience in the following areas:

  • Finance (for the role of Treasurer)
  • Data & Research or Funding & Sponsorship

You will need strong influencing skills and be able to give at least 1-2 hour per month with board and committee meetings held quarterly.

There is no close date for trustee / board member applications as we will review applications on an ongoing basis with priority hiring of Trustees given to those with Finance, Data & Research or Funding & Sponsorship specialisms.

If you require any further information please e-mail our Chair of Trustees, Grant Jessup
