Chisenhale Dance Space is looking for up to five new Trustees, including a new Chair, to join us in enabling the next stage in CDS’s journey.
The role of the Board of Trustees is to support the strategic vision and leadership of the Company. The Board also ensures Chisenhale Dance Space remains true to its values, relevant to our artistic and local communities, and is both well managed and financially sustainable.
We are open to hearing from anyone who is passionate about what Chisenhale Dance Space does, but are especially keen to hear from people with a broad range of skills and experience. This includes, but is not limited to, expertise in:
- Performing Arts Practice
- Community-embedded Arts Practice
- Property Law or Capital Project Experience
- Finance
- Budget Management
- Governance
- Board Management
CDS is committed to continuing to have artists on our Board.

Trusteeships for charities are voluntary roles. Travel expenses or access support expenses can be provided. We estimate that the time commitment to CDS will amount to a day per month spread out in short meetings and email interactions.

We aim to reduce loneliness by ensuring older people have access to social support and a range of activities and services.
For those on a low income, Friends of the Elderly also offers a grant service to help older people meet the unexpected costs of daily living and to stay connected with their families and communities.
Before the pandemic, Friends of the Elderly refreshed its strategic objectives to reflect the recognised need for flexible care and accommodation.

About the roles
Friends of the Elderly is looking for two new Trustees with experience and advanced skills in finance and social care.
Who we are looking for
- Finance
The Financial Trustee will be a senior financial leader with experience in the commercial, public or charity sector — and potentially familiarity with social care.
You will have knowledge and experience in complex financial management and growth. FotE needs someone who can offer strategic leadership guidance at this pivotal time in the organisation’s development and assist the board in ensuring sound financial and resource management during a period of significant change.
Members of the Board of Trustees are also members of at least one board committee. There are also opportunities to sit on the charity’s Safeguarding Adults Sub-Committee.
- Social Care
The Social Care Trustee should have leadership experience in the social care sector, and a good understanding of areas such as residential care, safeguarding, quality and compliance.
You will provide strategic oversight and guidance to the board, drawing on skills and knowledge gained during your career in the social care sector, whether through commissioning, service provision or regulation.
FotE is looking for someone with the ability to understand the charity’s multi-faceted nature and how the organisation fits into the wider sector.
We are looking for people who have an appreciation of the regulatory environment FotE operates within, and an awareness of the development opportunities that would best benefit those we look after. Experience in the charity sector would be welcomed but is not essential.
Members of the Board of Trustees are also members of at least one board committee. There are also opportunities to sit on the charity’s Safeguarding Adults Sub-Committee.

As a membership charity, we put victims at the heart of our work, equipping them to support themselves and others, campaign for change and shape RoadPeace’s work.
Following its 30th anniversary, Roadpeace is looking towards the next chapter and after reviewing how to develop and strengthen the charity, is in the process of creating a new strategy.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and compassionate Treasurer to provide financial insight and leadership to the Board, assist with the new strategy and ensure that the organisation has long-term sustainability and delivers its charitable objectives in close cooperation with the Board of Trustees, Chair and CEO.

Hammersmith United Charities supports the community and combats inequality through three key areas of activity.

They are looking to broaden the Board’s diversity of thought with creative and strategic thinkers. The successful candidates will have exceptional communication skills, alongside the ability to exercise objective and independent judgement.
Ideally, the Trustees will possess senior leadership experience in: Social housing or a background in the financial sector.
However, the most important aspect is that candidates will bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role. A strong connection to Hammersmith is desirable, but not necessary.

A school governing body is made up of representatives from the school, the parents, and the local community.
What are we looking for?
This vacancy is for a Secondary school (11-18). They are looking for someone who has previous governance or board level experience. Ideally, you would have education experience however please still apply if your skills lie in a different industry. You do need to have a deep commitment to inclusive education, ability to form good relationships with the school and Trust leaders and an understanding of and compassion for children experiencing disadvantage.
You must be over 18, but you don’t need to be a parent or have children of school age. Often, it’s the outside perspective you can bring that a school needs. Professional experience in areas such as safe guarding, change management, and leadership skills are all useful to a school. Soft skills such as communication and problem solving are also great additions.
What difference will you make?
Governors make decisions that affect schools for years to come. Chair of Governors work in partnership with Head Teachers and the Senior Management Team to help deliver the best possible education, and help children realise their expectations and aspirations.
Our recent impact survey found that our volunteers bring £9.9 million worth of value to schools each year, and 9/10 volunteers would recommend being a governor to a friend.
As a chair of governors, you will be encouraged to visit the school to gain an understanding of the culture and ethos and to get the most out of the role. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet children, parents, and teachers, and see the impact of your work first-hand.

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in poverty? We are seeking three passionate individuals to serve as trustees and contribute their skills and expertise to our cause.
Action on Poverty is a small dynamic international development organisation working in Sierra Leone, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania to address barriers to safe and lasting work. We are working to break the cycle of poverty and inequality. Our programmes are particularly focused on supporting women, young people and people with disabilities. We have a small UK staff team of 6, who now mostly work remotely. We pride ourselves on keeping lean so that most of our funds go out to our overseas partners who can apply them where they are most needed.
Who we need: We are looking to augment our Board of six trustees with up to three more who have the skills and expertise for the roles indicated below, attending Trustees’ Meetings three to four times a year (held via Zoom) and assisting with ad-hoc issues in-between times related to their skill area. We see these roles as a strategic lead, providing oversight and a sounding board to the relevant staff and the CEO. These are voluntary (unpaid) positions.
For our organisational strengthening, creativity and problem solving we are keen to recruit people from different perspectives and experiences which diversity brings and we aim to build a culture where everyone feels heard, respected and valued. Based on an audit of our current Board members, we particularly welcome applications from the Global South, especially from the countries in East and West Africa in which we work. In particular, we are looking for three individuals to join our team of Trustees with skills and expertise in:Fundraising;Inclusion and Diversity; with Governance (including HR skills) are also helpful as a cross cutting need.

What will you be doing?
Conquest Art (CA) is a long-established charity which runs groups offering art in a conducive atmosphere for people with various health problems and challenges. At the regular sessions they can make friends and enjoy the benefits of creativity through art.
The charity has several groups in the Surrey area as well as throughout the UK. Exhibitions and promotional events take place at various times during the year.
CA seeks an addition to its small team of hands-on Trustees to assist with the management of the charity and, also, with publicity and promotional activities. Apart from good communication skills and an interest in charity governance, no special qualifications are needed.
Trustee meetings are currently held bi-monthly on Zoom.
