The Change Project was established in 2017 to change harmful relationships to create positive futures for children, victims, and perpetrators.
1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men experience domestic abuse every year. This equates to two million people in the UK – these are only the figures that are reported to health and the police and do not estimate the abuse behind closed doors.
It is estimated that 130,000 children live in abusive homes.
The Change Project was created to support people to achieve a life free of abuse. We aim to achieve this through increasing the safety of victims, changing the behaviour of perpetrators, reducing the impact of domestic violence for future generations, and educating professionals and the public about domestic abuse.
The Change Project’s services include:
- Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme: a RESPECT accredited, 27-week structured group programme, designed to engage perpetrators and work with them to understand their behaviour.
- The Change Hub: addresses domestic abuse in the community. Domestic Violence Awareness Practitioners deliver one-to-one behaviour change interventions matched to the level of risk and the client’s individual circumstances.
- Centre Counselling: provides counselling to families, couples, and individuals to promote wellbeing through healthy relationships. We address sexual problems through counselling and psychosexual therapy covering all aspects of relationships.
The Change Project’s influence in the field of domestic abuse has continued to grow, but our work is not done. There are more than 100,000 people in the UK at imminent risk of serious injury. Services rightly need to focus on meeting the needs of victims, but this means only 1% of perpetrators get specialist intervention that might help prevent future abusive behaviour.
We are now looking to grow our board through the appointment of a new Chair and two trustees.
The Covid-19 pandemic has been challenging, creating a “perfect storm” for an increase in domestic abuse related incidents, and thus more people needing our services.
Regrettably, unable to continue many services during the pandemic lockdown, the charity experienced a decline in income and the size of our organisation was downsized.
As we continue to rebuild with a desire to scale, grow, and have a greater impact, we are looking for a new Chair and trustees who can support us to create our next strategy. The focus will be on growing our organisation, responding to national need, expanding our services, establishing our brand, and extending our reputation for quality.
To achieve this, we are looking for a Chair who can lead us in our next strategic phase, bring strong understanding of charity governance and a commercial lens to our organisation.
For our new trustees, we are interested in people who bring a wealth of experiences including, but not limited to, a domestic abuse specialist, commissioning and contracting, safeguarding, legal and HR. We are looking for a highly committed and a more diverse board who can support us to achieve growth and impact while also diversify our income.
The board meets quarterly in the evening for 1.5 hours. Currently, the board meets virtually but would like to have a mix of face to face and virtual in the future. The expected time commitment for the Chair is 1-2 days per month, while for trustees this is expected to be half a day a month.

The Compliance and Secretary Trustee manages the administrative duties of Hidayah. They fall into three main categories; Membership Administration, GDPR and Compliance Governance. Duties include, but aren’t limited to:
Membership Administration:
- Maintaining Hidayah’s membership database
- Gathering data relating to Hidayah events and activities to feed into the annual report and publicity documents (for example, surveys, excel spreadsheets and graphs, case studies)
- Effectively communicate updates to Hidayah members via CRM systems
- Promoting events in conjunction with the Communication & Marketing Trustee
- Evaluating, managing and continually improve the Hidayah membership experience (managing the end-to-end cycle)
- Regularly check, maintain and update Hidayah’s administration and data handling systems such as using Google Drive to store information
GDPR:
- Reviewing and keep all Hidayah policies updated in accordance to legal requirements and Charity Commission guidelines
- Ensuring that Hidayah membership records are GDPR compliant
- Updating trustees on any changes to the Charity Commission guidelines
- Where necessary, assisting the HR Officer in gathering relevant data on volunteers
- Supporting the HR Officer in creating flowcharts and processes in line with current legislation
Compliance Governance:
- Supporting Hidayah Trustees with compliance specific queries for finance, volunteers and membership
- Maintaining records and registers for auditing purposes
- Regularly auditing policies to determine risk involved and finding mitigating strategies
- Coordinating with the Deputy Chair to ensure that trustees are compliant with policies and procedures
How much time is required?
We are flexible around your schedule but we anticipate that this role will take up to 4 hours a week. The following commitments are in place for all member of the Hidayah board:
- Aim to attend all Trustee meetings, delivering a comprehensive report with updates and to complete actions as and when they appear
- Aim to attend all other planning meetings as necessary
- Attend Hidayah events (where geographically possible)
- Help to fundraise for, and advertise, any Hidayah events and fundraising drives
- Add to and maintain the administration of our file sharing system ‘Google Drive’ to ensure it’s up to date with clear records, templates and forms
- Check and respond to emails in a timely manner
- Contribute to the communications group (via Discord) and stay up to date with Hidayah developments
- Provide information, statements and data for the annual report
- Keep up to date with Hidayah communication and organisational developments
This role is subject to a 6 months probationary period with a 2 month notice period should you wish to resign.
This role is in place until the next AGM (August 2024) with extension subject to Board Member approval.

Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS) is a rare, complex condition that causes blindness, learning disabilities, and obesity, along with other symptoms. BBS UK is the only UK charity dedicated to helping individuals with BBS and their loved ones. Our aim is to offer wraparound support to those impacted by BBS, to empower them to live the lives they choose, as valued members of society.
BBS UK provides advocacy services, NHS clinic support, up-to-date publications, and events that connect our community members and help them to navigate living with Bardet-Biedl syndrome. We have a team of eight dedicated part-time staff members who facilitate the delivery of these services, and volunteers who assist with our events. We support approximately 550 individuals with BBS each year.

About us
Set up in 1994, we had an income in 2022/23 of almost £190k, with matching expenditure, as we’re not a large charity with overheads. Our projects in Mityana now include economic empowerment, improving welfare and medical provisions, and enhancing education and safeguarding.
About the role
We’re looking for someone to lead our Board who is committed to maintaining, developing and sustaining the charity, and who will work with our other trustees to continue to shape our future. You should have an interest in supporting the sustainable development of communities in Africa, and thus a empathy with our cause and beneficiaries.
Our Board is composed of enthusiastic volunteers, some with a long-term involvement in the charity. Also some who have visited our delivery charity, Partners for Community Transformation, in Uganda.
Trustees are the people who make the top-level decisions for our charity. You don’t necessarily need prior experience of charity trusteeship, although that would be welcome. Induction to our organisation will be provided, plus access to external training, as needed. Your prior experience of committee work would be useful.
Once you are familiar with the function and operation of our charity, we would welcome your taking on other operational responsibilities, if possible, as we don’t have UK staff.
If you can think strategically, plan long-term and able to work collectively with our other Board members, you have the primary skills needed by our trustees.
We are a charity not a business, but we apply business principles to governing our organisation. We are looking for fresh expertise and experience from a variety of backgrounds to our charity. We want to expand the diversity of our board, in all meanings of the word, and strongly welcome applications from people from less-represented groups.
The Board meets online and face-to-face for about 90 minutes, usually five times a year on days agreed in advance by trustees.

We are looking for a Chair who is passionate about science and promoting trust in the profession and work closely with trustees and our Chief Executive to lead the organisation. CMTUK supports people living with the group of neurological conditions known as Charcot Marie Tooth Disease (CMT). The board is seeking members to enhance the board and is keen on increasing its diversity.
Who we are
CMTUK supports people living with Charcot Marie Tooth Disease and related conditions. It is a small charity with four part time members of staff, based in Christchurch, Dorset. Trustees are from across the UK.
The role
The CMTUK board meets 5 times a year, these are mostly online with at least one of these meetings in person, usually the evening before the annual conference (This has been during April/May in West Midlands). Trustees may be based anywhere within the UK (travel/accommodation to meetings is reimbursed if required).
The CMTUK board is seeks new trustees who will be active within the board and willing to sit on at least one committee (finance, communication, youth, research, strategy). The board is particularly interested to receive applications from those with experience of health / law.

Kintsugi Hope is a charity based in the UK striving to make a difference to peoples mental wellbeing.
"Kintsugi' (金継ぎ) is a Japanese technique for repairing pottery with seams of gold. The word means 'golden joinery' in Japanese. This repairs the brokenness in a way that makes the object more beautiful, and even more unique than it was prior to being broken. Instead of hiding the scars it makes a feature of them.
We want to see a world where mental and emotional health is understood and accepted, with safe and supportive communities for everyone to grow and flourish.
A Kintsugi Hope Wellbeing Group is a safe and supportive space for people who feel or have felt overwhelmed, providing tools for self-management in a facilitated peer mentoring style setting.
It consists of a structured yet flexible series of 12 weeks of content, which includes group and individual activities designed to help participants to accept themselves, to understand their value and worth, and grow towards a more resilient and hopeful future.
The role of the Group Leader is to facilitate the sessions using the material available, signposting people if necessary to further help and support. It can feel vulnerable and scary starting a group, but the benefit of a Kintsugi Hope Group is that Group Leaders are not on their own.
Issues covered include; disappointment, loss, anxiety, anger perfectionism, shame and resilience. Feedback so far has been amazing.
What we are looking for
We are looking for people with the specific skills described in the Person Specification (below). To ensure that our board is as diverse as possible we are particularly keen to receive applications from groups that are under-represented on the board. Particularly young people, people with disabilities, or who experience physical or mental concerns.
Person Specification
The application must have:
- Significant experience and expertise in either scaling an organisation, legal, adult safeguarding, mental health services at a community level or other skills that will enhance the board.

- The Board of Trustees meet four to five times a year. Once or twice a year on a Saturday for vision and impact days and three times a year online between 7pm and 9.30pm on different evenings.
- Trustees are asked to take on specific roles, for examples on committees or working parties, and asked to attend additional meetings if necessary.
- All trustees are expected to participate in discussions, provide opinions and make decisions as required.

What We Need:
As our Treasurer/Accountant, you’ll lead on the financial management and controls of SUNSHINE, including creating financial systems, processes and policies, lead on banking related matters and register SUNSHINE with HMRC for both Gift-Aid and also PAYE.
You will also act as a Trustee with passion, integrity, and a commitment to our cause. Your role will be pivotal in shaping our strategy, governance, and impact. You’ll collaborate with fellow trustees, volunteers, and our vibrant community. Together, we’ll create ripples of positivity that extend far beyond London.
You MUST have UK finance experience and an accounting qualification.
