Job description

Are you a driven community minded person who would like to help improve the lives of people across the borough?

UNITED in Hammersmith & Fulham (UNITED) is a place-based giving scheme that promotes, inspires and helps fund activities that deliver a strong sense of belonging in our diverse London borough. Over the last two years, we have undertaken a programme of work to establish our new charity. We have the core infrastructure in place and have also established a small grants programme aimed at bringing people in the borough together to strengthen their bonds as neighbours.

This year, we had significant fundraising and grant distribution success with a community coronavirus fund, are now moving into the next phase of the development: seeking to engage with the general public and a private donors through awareness and continued fund raising for 2020-25. This is envisaged to result in an increase in community funding over the period.

We are looking for at least one new trustee who is:

  • Able to apply their experience of life, their skills and their local connections to the work of the charity
  • Committed to making a difference to their local area
  • Good listener
  • Team player
  • Curious and inquisitive
  • Willing to ask questions and to express a view
  • Able to offer a time commitment of 8 evening meetings a year

We are particularly interested to hear from people experienced in community development in the local area. We also particularly encourage applications from Black, Asian, and other Minority Ethnic candidates, women, and disabled persons, as these groups are currently underrepresented.

First time Trustees are also very welcome to apply.
