Job description

Action Duchenne’s life-changing work reaches across the entire UK and beyond. We are looking for volunteers to help support our fundraising team. Could you spare some time to make a significant difference in helping to achieve a world where lives are no longer limited by Duchenne muscular dystrophy?

Why we need you?

Use your skills to provide valuable support to our fundraising team.

What will I be doing?

  • Liaising with the Community Fundraising team and assisting them in sending out support packs to families, fundraising materials to supporters, and dispatching items from our online shop.
  • Helping the Community Fundraising team in project work, such as maintaining the fundraising database, researching opportunities, designing fundraising materials.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and directing the caller to the appropriate team member. 
  • Share progress openly with the central Community Fundraising team.

Skills you will need for the volunteer role of Fundraising Executive 

  • Good time management 
  • Enjoy networking and meeting new people
  • Good at building strong working relationships
  • Attention to detail
  • Aware of the importance of security when handling money
  • Enthusiastic about championing Action Duchenne and our vision.

Where is this role based?

The volunteer role of Fundraising Executive is based in our offices in CAN Mezzanine, Old Street, London N1 6AH.

How much time do I need to commit?

The role is flexible and we are willing to offer a role to suit school hours or family life and other commitments. We recommend allowing at least 1 day in the office per week as a minimum to enable you to really give this role your all.

What support will I receive?

You will have your own Community Fundraising Officer assigned to you, who will give you full training, materials and will support you in your role. You will be assigned a hot desk and computer in the office from which you will conduct your volunteering role.
