The Treasurer on the Board of Trustees of REMIX holds a vital role in financial oversight and governance. Here are some of the key tasks and duties the Treasurer will undertake:
- Assist in forming the charity’s strategy, particularly regarding financial resources to deliver the strategy.
- Ensure the board receives appropriate financial information, including annual accounts, and that all accounts are prepared and disclosed as required by funders and statutory bodies.
- Recommend appropriate accounting procedures, controls, and policies, and oversee the appointment and regular review of auditors.
- Ensure the charity has an appropriate investment policy, monitors investment performance, and sets a reserves policy.
- Ensure the board is aware of its financial duties and responsibilities, complies with legislation, and regularly reviews financial policies and the scheme of delegation.
- Actively contribute to giving strategic direction, setting targets, ensuring financial stability, and safeguarding the charity’s values.
- Attend meetings, read papers in preparation, and participate in other tasks such as interviewing staff or helping with fundraising.
The Treasurer’s role is to provide financial leadership, ensuring the charity’s financial health and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. It’s a role that requires diligence, expertise in financial matters, and a commitment to the charity’s mission and governance.

Help tackle loneliness and isolation in your Community. As a Volunteer Befriender, you will visit an older person in their own home once a week for a chat and to provide companionship.
Our Befriending service supports older adults by alleviating loneliness and isolation, supporting independence, and increasing self-confidence, by making weekly or fortnightly visits to a client living in the borough of Croydon.
We place emphasis on making the right match for you and the client to ensure an enjoyable and rewarding experience. One of the befriending team will work closely with you during the match process and accompany you on your first visit to introduce you to the client.
You will be assigned a line manager who will support and encourage you. We provide a befriending induction along with training and ongoing support to ensure that you are fully equiped and ready for what will be a rewarding and positive experience. Feedback from our clients and volunteers show the huge impact on wellbeing that an hour a week can make.
What will I be doing?
- Visiting an older person in their own home once a week maybe for a cup of tea and a chat.
- Providing companionship.
- Other activities mutually agreed by the Client and the Volunteer such as reading together and puzzles.

What is the purpose of this role?
To support vulnerable people living in Nottingham City through the provision of practical and social support.
What impact does this role have?
Supports vulnerable people (18 and over), to live independently in the community.
What activities might you be involved in?
The following are examples of the type of support you could be asked to provide:
- Shopping
- Collecting prescriptions
- Wellbeing checks on the phone and in person according to the person’s needs
- Providing emotional support
- Engage in confidence building activities e.g., going for a ‘walk and talk’, supporting people to go to the shops etc.

What are we looking for?
Individuals with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of vulnerable people who are committed to volunteering within the charity’s policies and procedures and who will adhere to the volunteering code of conduct.
When would you be needed to volunteer?
Ideally, we ask all applicants to commit to providing a minimum of 2 hours volunteering a week at a time to meet your availability and our service requirements.
What training will you be given?
You will be given all the training you need to fulfil your role. Everyone will receive an induction into the Charity.

At REMIX you will;
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall mission and goals of REMIX.

- Provide support and guidance on HR-related case work and employee issues, fostering a positive work environment and team spirited culture at REMIX.

To strengthen our Board and governance, we are looking for additional Trustees including a Treasurer.
The Treasurer will chair the finance committee and will focus on our financial and accounting controls as well as ensuring the ongoing financial security of the charity. The Treasurer will be responsible for the following:

We are looking for our new Treasurer to have the following skills and experience:
- A background in Financial Management/Accountancy. Knowledge of charity finance is an advantage but otherwise individuals with sound commercial experience and the skills to scrutinise and oversee the accounts of a growing charity, and advise Trustee Board on financial management.
- Skills to analyse proposals and examine their financial consequence
- A willingness to be available to give financial advice and answer enquiries from any staff or volunteers on an ad hoc basis.

The Royal Air Force (RAF) Museum has over one million collection items, which require regular care so that the story of the RAF - past, present, and future – can be preserved for future generations. Conservators within the Small Objects Team treat and maintain items in the museum collection at the London site. Items within the category of Small Objects include, but are not limited to, archival materials, textiles, fine art, medals, and aircraft components. Trustee
We’re looking for a Trustee to join our Board to help achieve our vision of London alive with nature, where everyone can experience and enjoy wildlife.

We know that diversity of both representation and thought is a powerful key to unlocking the full potential of London Wildlife Trust. Role & Responsibilities
Our Trustees serve as a vital pillar in our organisation, providing leadership, expertise and supportive guidance to ensure we achieve our aim and objectives.
We have a range of directorates from policy and planning, nature recovery, outdoor learning, visitor experience and retail. If you share our vision and have experience in any of the areas, my Trustee colleagues, we’d love to hear from you.
We are seeking Trustees who have experience in one (or more) of the below areas:
Visitor attractions: managing visitor experience and/or generating commercial income in a similar charity-led visitor attraction.
Retail: we have a longer term ambition to develop and online retail offering so experience in this area would be hugely beneficial
Outdoor learning: experience and expertise to strategically support our well-established outdoor learning programmes
Legislation and advocacy: an understanding of biodiversity policy and legislation, and an in-depth understanding of nature recovery and political advocacy at a national level, including the regional context of London borough councils, and Greater London Authority
Person Specification
· A collaborative listener who works effectively as a member of a team.
· Independent judgment, a willingness to share opinions and an ability to focus on making decisions.
· Strong communication and relationship management skills.
· A critical friend who empowers and constructively challenges the Chief Executive and senior management team.

Terms of Appointment
This role is unremunerated, but reasonable, pre-agreed travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Attendance at 6 yearly meetings plus an annual strategy session, half of which are typically delivered online
Occasional further contribution either in person or online to provide mentoring, advice and guidance
Trustees are elected at the AGM for a term of three years, which may be renewed for one further three-year term and then can be extended for up to two years if required.
