Location:      Remote

Reporting to:      Head of Recruitment & Onboarding, Sabina Raus

Staff Management:  HR Associate x 2

Key Working Relationships:   Head of Recruitment & Onboarding, HR Manager (Changemakers), HR Associate (Changemakers), HR Associate (We Make Change), HR Coordinator, Head of Inclusion & Diversity

 

Time Commitment:  4-5 hours minimum per week (plus any more time you are able to offer)

The People Team

As a member of the People Team, you will be assisting in the recruitment and onboarding process of our We Make Change (WMC) and Changemaker People. We have recently restructured and the Changemaker/WMC Functions sit devolved alongside one another.


 

Job Brief

We’re looking for an HR Manager to lead the development the HR functions within the internal team at We Make Change. The postholder will work alongside a HR Manager (Changemakers) who will manage the external function.

The role will involve working closely with our Head of Resourcing and Onboarding, with the aim of developing our recruitment strategy, advising on designing practices and policies, as well as ensuring that we promote the fun, inspiring and empowering culture that we wish to define our organisation.

  • The internal team HR Manager will be responsible for delivering a people development strategy, encompassing recruitment, learning and development, internal communication and volunteer engagement across the entire We Make Change Team.

    What you will do:

  • Work with people across the business to develop and implement a recruitment strategy.

  • Work with stakeholders across the business to scope, design and implement career development strategies such as reward mechanisms, mentoring, coaching and role model programmes and succession planning.

  • Work in partnership with the management team to establish skill gaps and then develop effective training solutions aligned to business objectives and values.

  • Research, scope, recommend and implement people strategies and initiatives that will complement the evolving needs of the business.

  • Take ownership of the internal on-boarding process in partnership with the Head of Resourcing and Onboarding, inclusive of processing relevant paperwork using internal systems.

  • Work with senior management to develop ways of driving up engagement.

  • Work with other managers, improving volunteers’ experiences of working with us

  • Promote Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

  • Promote Health and Safety

Desired experience:

  • Professional experience in an HR role is a requirement

  • Leading people development initiatives at strategic level

  • Some experience within Learning and Development is preferred

  • Experience of working within a busy HR or training department during a significant period of change

  • Knowledge of Equality, Diversity & Inclusion best practice

Desired skills:

  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the business

  • Ability to work under pressure and under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, highly personable with a flexible and mature approach.

  • Management and leadership skills

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

The role will be performed remotely, so applications are welcomed from across the world.
