A volunteer opportunity to work closely with the Trustees of one of Winchester's best known charities. How can Winchester District respond to the global climate change emergency? WinACC needs your help with this challenge.
We're looking for one or more volunteers to look after the range of tasks associated with the duties of company secretary, underpinning high standards of governance. At WinACC, these tasks fall into three categories:
Board Meetings - organising trustees' meetings and the AGM, collating and circulating agenda papers, taking minutes, and securing key documents. Quarterly meetings in Winchester, with AGM usually in November.
Trustees' Committees - assisting the Chair as far as possible in preparation and work of the four Trustees' Committees (strategy, finance, fundraising, exec) which sustain high level activities of the charity in between full Trustees' meetings. Each Committee normally meets quarterly.
Compliance - helping Trustees to fulfil their legal and regulatory responsibilities, including returns to Charity Commission and Companies House, interpreting the constitution, presenting the charity correctly on print and digital communications, and advising the maintenance of essential policies for good governance of internal and external affairs. Home-based with occasional meetings with staff and Trustees
Could you take responsibility for one of more of these areas of support for WinACC Trustees?
You should be able to demonstrate that you are qualified by experience to undertake the tasks. Active interest in environmental issues would be an advantage. You'll have the opportunity to meet a wide range of WinACC's experienced volunteers committed to our vision of a zero carbon Winchester District.
