The Paddy Holmes Foundation is a new charity that aims to raise money for funding transformational bursaries and funded scholarships. Children who would otherwise not be able to attend an independent school will benefit from a Ditcham Park School education and develop into confident young people who go out into the world with the skills and desire to improve it. This is a wonderful opportunity to lead this new Foundation from its very inception.
We are currently looking for a dynamic, creative and inspiring Chair of Trustees who can bring their energy and expertise to the organisation.
We are particularly keen to recruit a Chair who is experienced in the following areas:
- Previous experience in another small Charity
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Charity governance
- Knowledge of fundraising, financial management, or legal matters is desirable but not essential
- An understanding of the independent school sector
- Experience in bid writing
This is an exciting time for Ditcham Park School as we develop and expand our offer and explore opportunities to identify and support exceptional young children in the Petersfield area, regardless of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or financial means.

As a Volunteer Customer Service Assistant in one of our shops, you will be the face of PDSA. You will make sure that our customers receive a warm welcome and help us to achieve our ambition of delivering the best customer service of any UK charity. You will also be helping us to exceed our income targets.

Branches take in stray and abandoned cats and ensure they receive the veterinary care and attention they deserve, help raise funds, promote neutering and help spread cat welfare messages. Our branch team leader volunteers lead their local team by supporting and managing volunteers within their group, maintaining communications with both volunteers and staff, and helping promote a positive and professional image of Cats Protection.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Supporting your team of volunteers in all aspects of their roles, making sure volunteers are happy and confident
- Making sure the team observes charity best practice and compliance
- Collaborating with your Branch Development Manager (BDM) to plan volunteer activity
- Leading the team to follow Cats Protection policies, procedures and guidelines
- Monitoring expenditure and helping ensure long term financial stability of the volunteer group
- Organising and chairing team meetings
- Acting as an ambassador for Cats Protection

Purpose of the Role
This volunteer role is a key part of the HFEH Mind team delivering a range of services across Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow. We support clients with mental health with both clinical and non-clinical interventions.
The volunteer will coordinate a network of volunteers who, alongside the local team, delivering a range of services.
The volunteer will onboard, induct, and provide ongoing support for the volunteers and provide oversight of the relationship volunteers have with the service users we work with.
Main Responsibilities
To work closely with the HFEH Mind team and service managers and support the services with volunteer recruitment, supervision and retention.
Tasks
- Work with the service managers and central support team to support the journey and retention of volunteers.
- Provide volunteers with 1:1s or group support on a monthly basis.
- Support Director of Adult Services to administer reflective practice sessions.
- Work with the service managers and central support to log and administer volunteer availability, and resolve any volunteering related issues or complaints.
- Encourage people to volunteer through a variety of local marketing and promotion approaches, including social media and engage with our Head of Well at Work to develop a marketing and communications strategy for volunteers.
- Develop, coordinate and engage a network of around 30 active volunteers for the service.
- Induct new volunteers.
- Work effectively to ensure local volunteers feel valued and are contributing to the objectives of HFEH Mind.
- Support the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of our services.
- Gather volunteer feedback and take appropriate steps for service improvement.

Could you volunteer in your local PDSA charity shop and help us raise vital funds to treat pets in need?
PDSA is a charity with 48 pet hospitals that supports pets and people in need. All of our charity shops need an amazing team of volunteers to make them a success and we need you now more than ever.
By becoming a charity shop volunteer with PDSA you will:
- Gain retail experience
- Develop new skills and boost your CV
- Meet new people
- Support your local community
- Donate your current skills and knowledge

- Be part of a friendly team
Charity Shop Volunteers are involved in a wide range of roles and day-to-day activities that support the running of each shop and even a few hours a week will make a difference.
On the shop floor you could be involved with providing excellent customer service, processing transactions on the tills, replenishing stock and putting up eye-catching displays to entice customers in.
Behind the scenes, volunteers get involved with sorting through donations to find those hidden gems and preparing goods for sale by sorting, steaming and pricing
We provide training, so you don’t need experience – and we reimburse travel expenses so you won’t be out of pocket.
We’re looking for people who are 18 years of age or over that enjoy working as part of a team and making a difference.
