Voluntary
Job description

Summary: develop strategic marketing and communications plan and support staff and volunteers to deliver it; work alongside trustees to govern, be legally accountable and liable for FEAST charitable efforts and output; support the board to evaluate and improve services; offer objective advice in the interests of FEAST; advance the online brand identity of FEAST; broaden awareness and visibility of FEAST values across a wider audience.

Background: at FEAST With Us we are dedicated to eradicating food poverty across London and ensuring adequate nutrition is available for all. The three main aims of FEAST With Us are to prevent malnutrition, minimise food waste and encourage community cohesion. Since 2015, we have been deploying volunteers and facilitators to cook nutritious meals with vulnerable adults in various community centres and hostels across London. To cook these meals, we source food from a range of food suppliers and distributors who donate their surplus food to FEAST With Us.

Before COVID-19, these meals were cooked and eaten together as a community between volunteers and vulnerable adults. Now, we have temporarily paused community meals and adapted our services to facilitate socially-distanced food preparation and the direct delivery of food parcels to vulnerable and homeless adults.

In response to the dramatic rise in food poverty, FEAST With Us has expanded as the demand for our services has grown. We need ample and robust marketing strategies to ensure that the volunteer pool is maintained and expanded with our operations effectively, and to generate wide-reaching donations drives. During this time of uncertainty and change we need more funds to continue supporting those who are experiencing food poverty now, and after the COVID-19 crisis is over. In the next year, we plan to raise £120k+ and need expert marketing advice to help us. If this sounds like you, then you will be joining a small team where you can have your say and help have a positive impact supporting people suffering food poverty.

Main Responsibilities:
