We're currently looking for an experienced Trainer or Training Designer who can volunteer with us and create some fun interactive training sessions or activities that create team spirit, confidence, team bonding and also give a sense of achievement and belonging to our new organisation.
We are particularly interested in the following Training to be designed, which will include;
- Recruit Training (approx. 24 hours over 12 weeks of 2 hrs per week) for young people joining Ranger Cadets to get to know the Ranger Cadets, their role, and to build a sense of belonging and fun that will earn them their uniform and begin their journey with the Ranger Cadets.
- Cadet Syllibus Training (Minimum of 3-10 hours or between 1 to 5 sessions) that will help develop our young people giving the needed tools and skills in that particular area, building a community and sense of pride in their communities, that will earn them badges for their uniform. This can be in Communication and Presentation Skills, Community Work, Drill, First Aid, or other area of Youth Development, Life Skills or preparing young people for life.

Root and Branch help people who experience mental health difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder. Located on an organic farm in the beautiful Vale of White Horse, the charity offer a wide range of interesting activities such as gardening, blacksmithing, woodworking, crafts, artwork, pottery, ceramics and cookery. This helps people to regain their self-esteem and hence lead a fuller life including returning to work or education.
Role summary
As a Trustee you will be involved in the governance of the charity, setting the strategic direction as well as supporting the Chief Officer. In addition to your statutory duties, each trustee should use any specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions. This may involve scrutinising board papers, leading discussions, focusing on key issues, providing advice and guidance on new initiatives, or other issues in which the trustee has special expertise.
The treasurer also helps trustees carry out their financial responsibilities. They do this by:
- Presenting financial reports to the board in a format that helps the board understand the charity’s financial position.
- Advising the board on how to carry out its financial responsibilities.
- Liaising with professional advisors.
- Overseeing the preparation and scrutiny of annual accounts.

Ranger Cadets has been set up to help prepare young people for life by giving young people aged 13 to 25 years old new opportunities and experiences to learn and discover themselves and the world around them, while boosting their confidence, skills for life and resilience, getting young people in uniform and in their communities to show the difference young people can make in society.
As a Senior Manager you will be involved in shaping the foundations of our new startup uniformed youth development organisation and will be able to help us make positive and long-lasting impact and change in young peoples lives and in the community around them.
The role of the Senior Managers is to uphold the Charity’s mission and vision, ensuring the effective governance of the charity. The Senior Managers will work together with the Chief Ranger to set the strategic direction and framework for the organisation and ensure that Ranger Cadets has the funding, resources and materials needed to provide its ambitious and challenging aims and goals.
Senior Managers will be expected to give a minimum of 8 hours per week, taking place during the daytime, evenings or weekends, with the majority of our work taking place during the evenings and on weekends.

LHA London has been providing high quality accommodation in London since 1940 and now have fourteen large hostels providing affordable accommodation for nearly 2000 people in the capital. Our residents are young people studying or working in London, and live with LHA either to undertake educational courses, or if working, to give themselves time to familiarise themselves with London, to make friends and to decide whether or not to make more private and long term arrangements for housing. Our amazing team of volunteers donate over 15000 hours of their time and considerable skill in order to support the organisation. Volunteers participate in a wide range of activities from governance through the board of trustees, supporting the marketing team through internships and supporting hostel operations in catering, housekeeping and reception roles.
Role details
As a housekeeping volunteer you’ll be at the forefront of our operations as part of the housekeeping team you’ll help to maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness for our residents. The types of duties which form part of your volunteer role vary from House to House and can change from day to day but will usually involve the following:
1. Everyday general cleaning and portering duties covering all areas and to include; the cleaning of showers, toilets, bedrooms, public & communal areas, immediate external areas, kitchens and dining room.
2. Occasional special cleaning, e.g. carpet cleaning, deep cleaning areas, oven cleaning, washing down walls, laundry, cleaning vents and inside of windows.
3. Changing bed linen, counting and preparing laundry for collection.

Accommodation & Hostel Facilities
Accommodation in a single sex shared room and meals are provided at the House where you are placed – or the nearest catered site for meals. In self-catering sites kitchen facilities are provided for your use. Bed linen is provided but not towels. There are laundry facilities and vending machines available. All hostels have WIFI, a TV room and sometimes a study room & Gym.

Are you someone who would like to stay in shape, help save the planet and raise funds to save lives? Volunteering in our local furniture store warehouse in Sale could be the answer.
We need warehouse operative volunteers to keep our stock moving by hand from the van to the warehouse and shop floor, and back to the van for delivery as items sell on the shop floor.
This role is physically active as it involves carrying furniture by hand but it’s not just moving furniture around. There are other opportunities to help in our warehouse, such as warehouse logistics, booking stock in and pricing, building flat-packed furniture, and testing electrical items – you can try different roles.

Youth Leadership Roles available at Ranger Cadets
Become a CADET NCO - VOLUNTEER ROLE

We are a NEW start-up uniformed youth development organisation looking to make a difference in the lives of young people aged 13 to 25 years old across England (starting in London and then growing outwards). Our mission is to prepare young people for life, by giving them new opportunities and experiences to learn and discover themselves and the world around them, while boosting their confidence, skills for life and resilience.
Cadets meet up at weekly unit cadet meet ups which take place one night per week usually held between 7pm and 9pm in which Cadets (young people) take part in fun, challenging and rewarding activities that are aimed to boost confidence and self-esteem and grow skills and gain different opportunities and experiences. Cadets also get to complete missions, challenges, and activities to earn badges for their uniform, gain accreditations in a wide range of topics and feel a sense of belonging and achievement. We aim to ensure young people are “Prepared for Life”.
As well as attending weekly cadet meet ups, Cadets take part in weekend public duties supporting their local community at events and local fates, as well as attending camps, residentials, trips and other youth development activities aimed to build positive futures for young people.
We are opening our first cadet units in London and are seeking young people aged 13 to 25 years old to volunteer and lead other cadets and assist in running and managing their weekly cadet unit.
At Ranger Cadets we are about giving young people access to new opportunities and experiences, while giving them the tools and skills to prepare them for life.
As well as the youthwork side you will need to manage the weekly cadet unit activities, including organising other youth development activities and public duties at local events, keeping and maintaining unit records and actively participating in the recruitment, training, management and retention of the young people (cadets) and adult volunteers in your unit. You will ensure that they all have a positive and rewarding experience while at Ranger Cadets, by equipping them with the necessary skills and tools to fulfil our vision.
We are currently looking to fill the following NCO (Youth Leadership) roles:
- Sergeants (Must be aged between 16 to 25)
- Corporals (Must be aged between 14 to 25)
- Senior Cadets (Must be aged between 13 to 25)
All these roles require approx. 4 or 5 hours per week (includes unit meetings on the same evening each week from 7pm to 9:30pm at the unit and the extra 1.5 / 2 hours are for meetings, planning and organising weekly cadet units, paperwork and area and organisational based activities as and when required).
If you have NCO experience and currently or previously hold an NCO Rank from another Cadet organisation then we may be willing to transfer that to Ranger Cadets with evidence, interview and induction training at the discrection of the Chief Ranger.
The successful candidates will attend unit meetings the same evening each week from 7pm to 9:30pm, where you will engage with local young people taking part in the cadet programme.
We want to hear from you if you are:
- Reliable, Punctual and Trustworthy.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to plan, organise and deliver activities for cadets (young people).
- Ability to manage a one night a week cadet meet-up’s and ensure that paperwork and standards are being fully met.
- Motivated to make an impact.
- Willing to use your initiative and work on your own as well as in a team.
- Interested in staying with us for at least 12 months longer if you want to.
- Passionate about working with young people and all that it brings.
- Willing to wear the Ranger Cadets uniform and assigned rank.
You should be confident about working with young people and willing to take an active role in running the meetings. You will need a good level of spoken English. You must be aged 18 or over, and you will need to complete an application form and a DBS police check. You must also be willing to wear the Ranger Cadets uniform and rank when required if coming onboard as a uniformed volunteer.
You MUST be willing to wear the Ranger Cadets uniform and the rank insignia assigned to the position that you have applied for.

The Ranger Cadets are a NEW start-up uniformed youth development organisation looking to make a difference in the lives of young people aged 13 to 25 years old across England (starting in London and then growing outwards). Our mission is to prepare young people for life, by giving them new opportunities and experiences to learn and discover themselves and the world around them, while boosting their confidence, skills for life and resilience.
Cadets meet up weekly at their cadet unit meet ups which take place one night per week between 7pm and 9pm in which Cadets (young people) take part in fun, challenging and rewarding activities that are aimed to boost confidence and self-esteem and grow skills and gain different opportunities and experiences. Cadets also get to complete missions, challenges, and activities to earn badges for their uniform, gain accreditations in a wide range of topics and feel a sense of belonging and achievement. We aim to ensure young people are “Prepared for Life”.
As well as attending weekly cadet meet ups, Cadets take part in weekend public duties supporting their local community at events and local fates, as well as attending camps, residentials, trips and other youth development activities aimed to build positive futures for young people.
We are opening our first cadet unit in the City of London (BANK EC4M area) and are looking for young people to join us.
We want to hear from you if you are:
- Reliable, Punctual and Trustworthy.
- Ability to turn up weekly every Tuesday 7-9pm.
- Willing to take part and build up skills for life while getting involved in the community.
- Interested in staying with us for at least 12 months longer if you want to.
- Willing to wear the Ranger Cadets uniform.

MS Walk Edinburgh is happening for the first time and we are looking for an incredible team of volunteers who will be helping to make MS Walk 2021 bigger and better than ever.
The 2021 event will have around 300 participants who will be walking through Edinburgh on either the 1km, 10km or the 20km route.
Together these walkers will be hoping to raise over £25,000 for the Stop MS Appeal to help fund MS research.
There are various roles available on the day from making some noise and encouraging our walkers, looking after the course and handing out water, snacks and medals.
Join our team of MS Superstar volunteers and support everyone who is walking, rolling and strolling to stop MS.
This role is only required on 22 August for one day and there are various times throughout the day. Shifts will be from 2-6 hours depending on role and location.
There are no specific skills required just enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.

For many children and young people living in foster care can be unsettling. You can make a difference by volunteering as an Independent Visitor.
Independent visitors support a child or young person on a one-to-one basis. Young people are offered the chance to meet with an Independent Visitor if they have little or no contact with their own families. As a volunteer you are there for the child or young person; a positive role-model who is independent and distinct from the paid professionals they see.
You will meet with a child or young person once a month to offer support, encouragement and guidance. This could involve taking part in a fun activity together or simply having a chat.
If you would like to be there for a child or young person, letting them know they have someone on their side, then this is the volunteering role for you.
We will support you in this role by ensuring that you receive regular supervision, and have a key contact for day-to-day advice and guidance. In return for the time you give you will receive valuable training and gain experience and skills. You’ll be making a real difference too.
