As CFG's Policy Officer you will make an impactful contribution to CFG's policy and advocacy work. Working with a wide range of stakeholders, including policy-makers, charity members and corporate partners, you will contribute to the smooth running of the Policy Team's work and effectiveness. You will be comfortable using your research and analytical skills to ensure CFG remains at the forefront of its advocacy work on behalf of its members and the wider sector. You will have a passion for getting to grips with complex policy issues and bringing people together to engage with them. As a member of the Policy and Communications Directorate, you'll work alongside the Communications Team and other colleagues to ensure our policy work is shared with a range of external audiences. Due to the rapid expansion of Day One Trauma Support over the last three years, the charity’s infrastructure has needed to respond quickly to meet its changing demands. There is now a requirement to ensure that the Finance and Resources team has the right skill set and capacity to provide the support needed by the charity in an efficient and proactive way.

The HR Officer and Executive Assistant role is a newly created position to reflect both the growing HR needs of the charity as the workforce expands, and the executive support required by the CEO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure the efficient and effective running of the charity. This is a key role which is instrumental in bringing the HR and organisational administration functions together at an operational level.

Reporting primarily to the Director of Finance and Resources and assisted by an external HR and Employment Law support service, this role will provide advice, guidance and support to all line managers in HR related matters whilst building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders throughout all levels of the organisation.  This will include support to ensure the efficient and effective management, monitoring and reporting of people metrics, from recruitment, development, retention through to attrition and at all stages of the employee life cycle.

The role will also provide crucial executive support to the CEO and SLT of three Directors, to ensure the smooth operation of their responsibilities and co-ordinating efforts of various parties to ensure completion of key tasks and actions.

About you:

You will have at least 3 years’ experience of delivering HR support directly and facilitating line managers to deliver HR support.  You will have a demonstrable understanding of employment law and the practical application of this, with experience of implementing HR administration and operational best practice for example, in the areas of recruitment, capability and performance management. You will help lead in creating an atmosphere of trust and an enabling environment where staff can contribute their best and develop their potential, which is critical for Day One as a young organisation.

You will have significant experience of providing proactive and responsive administrative assistance to senior staff and demonstrable experience of developing and managing effective administrative systems.  Additionally, the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships through professional engagement and communication skills, both written and spoken, that are effective, empathetic and adaptable to different situations are key to this role.

You will be highly organised and responsive to others in a way that is both timely and professional with well-developed time management skills to manage competing priorities, ensure follow up of actions and meet deadlines whilst working under pressure. This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. It is specifically expected that the role will allow for flexible scheduling to accommodate other responsibilities, including caring.

The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. Chief Executive Officer, Remote, 35 hrs Salary £90,097

GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. This causes problems for them and society. So, we offer an early intervention service for girls living in areas of deprivation to have the greatest impact.

People living with Parkinson's need to have their voice heard in Scotland to ensure their health and care needs are met.  Following an investment in our services, support and work with the NHS, we are also expanding our campaigning and policy work across Scotland and the rest of the UK.

We’re looking for someone special with experience of campaigning, including an understanding of its basic tools and techniques, experience of interpreting complex policy issues for a public audience, and knowledge of the Scottish political and public policy landscape. 

About the role 

You’ll support our national and local campaigning work across Scotland to improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s and those closest to them. As part of our dynamic and committed Scotland team, you’ll listen to the needs of our local communities and work with colleagues across the charity to deliver focussed political campaigning work. 

You’ll work with  our community to raise awareness and increase knowledge about Parkinson’s with decision makers at a local and national level. You’ll use your knowledge of public policy in Scotland and the UK to make sure that the voices of people with Parkinson’s, their partners, family members and friends are heard, and help to drive changes that improve their lives. 

What you’ll do:

• Be a first point of contact for campaigners in Scotland, who want to improve services in their local area, and recruit and manage a sustainable network of local campaign volunteers specific to Scotland.

• Support the work of the Policy and Campaigns Manager to understand and influence UK wide and Scottish specific legislation, policy and practice relating to our communities and their needs

• Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and campaigners on how best to influence decision makers in Scotland.

• Use our UK-wide campaign priorities to deliver national and local campaign activity, and coordinate campaigns with other charities and organisations, where appropriate to further our goals.

The NI is looking for its next Events Officer to oversee the setting up and online booking of a range of events – mainly conferences and dinners – as well as overseeing the subscriptions to its Journal. The role is a busy one and the person recruited with require good experience with events booking CRMs as well as working with volunteers and other team members in a small team.

Responsibilities

Main duties include:

Manage all event bookings administration, including:

o Set up of online booking for events through CRM

o Set up and maintain webpages for each event through CMS adding sponsor logos and additional information as required.

o Ensuring invoices for events are issued and paid, updating any on CRM that were issued manually including sponsorship events

o Ensuring relevant communications such as joining instructions are circulated to attendees

o Issue sponsorship contracts, invoices and monitor payments of same

o Providing support for delivery of events including producing delegate lists, dietary requirements etc

o Liaising with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure all events run smoothly.

Manage the admin and event email inboxes, answering all queries in a timely and professional fashion; forwarding queries to colleagues as appropriate where outside your area of expertise.

Assist in maintaining the CRM to ensure data quality eg by removing duplicates, amending incorrect details, updating information and resolving login issues.

Work closely with the Branch Representatives and the Marketing and Communications Manager to set up all events including paid-for and free-to-attend, plus any external suppliers where necessary.

Manage all journal subscriptions including renewals and responding to subscription enquiries.

Actively recruit new subscribers for Nuclear Future.

Manage credit control for events and journal subscriptions and actively work to manage debtors ensuring all invoices are paid.

Undertake any ad-hoc tasks as directed by the CEO to ensure a smooth-running organisation.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the UK-wide Volunteering Team, where you will play a critical role to lead on delivering strategic priority projects. 

As the Volunteering Strategic Project Manager you will line manage the England Volunteering Development Officers, lead on the strategic oversight for volunteering across England, and work collaboratively across the team to ensure volunteering is impact-led, embeds equity, diversity, and inclusion, and meets the needs of the organisation as well as the local community.

Contributing to the five-year volunteering strategy, you will ensure continued growth and impact across our successful IT and Digital transformations.

About CleanupUK  

We’re a small charity that brings communities together to create cleaner, connected and safer urban and rural neighbourhoods by tackling the litter problems where they live. Litter-picking brings people closer together, enables neighbours to meet one another other and helps create a greater sense of pride and community in local areas.

Historically, we have delivered litter-picking focussed community engagement projects in London and Birmingham. Our current focus is developing partnerships with community organisations across England to expand our reach and increase impact.

Main duties of the role 

• To provide a pro-active, high-quality administration and support service to the Operational Team, Chief Executive and the Corporate Partnerships team. 

Operational Team: Deals with logistics, processes and day to day functions of our work on the ground with community partners and volunteers.

• To provide help and advice to enquiries that come through our information email inbox. This could include; helping people access their profiles on our website or advising them as to how to get involved in community litter picking activity.

• To use Mail Chimp to send mailers to our partners and followers. 

• Database Management, to take a pro-active role in our upcoming database development project, considering how best to structure, store and export data. Following the launch of the database lead on database development and maintenance, such as an annual data cleanse.

• To assist with setting up, maintaining and updating database information, Community Cleanup Hub registrations, profiles and filing systems, ensuring that data handling complies with GDPR requirements.

The role

As Welfare Officer you will work alongside four National Support Coordinators, ensuring our members receive welfare and benefit related information, advice, and guidance via telephone, zoom meetings, and email.

We are looking for someone to work 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. There will be the need to occasionally work during weekends and evenings and therefore there is a need to work flexibly when required.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working within a similar role.

A keen interest in or a knowledge/experience of charitable support provision is essential.

Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness, as it is a little-unknown condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the illness. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors. 

Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including access to specialist welfare and benefits advice.

Myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals. 

The myasthenia’s are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia, and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

Bowel Cancer UK is the UK's leading bowel cancer charity. We're determined to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. We’re looking for an experienced and proactive online community professional to join our friendly and supportive Peer Support team. This role is part of our peer support services team and will be responsible for supporting our online peer support communities, including our forum and Facebook groups.

The post holder will work directly with the Peer Support Manager and the Senior Online Communities Officer, as well as with colleagues from across the charity to develop our online communities, helping us to reach and support more people affected by bowel cancer and those concerned about symptoms, risk and pre-diagnosis.

About the role:

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who will promote and increase engagement with the Humberside ABC Service. The Humberside ABC service will provide services to anyone affected by crime and as an Engagement Officer you will work alongside our team to enhance the offer we provide by managing volunteers, promoting the service and working with our partners including the police.

As an Engagement Officer you will be responsible for:

• Recruiting and managing a diverse team of volunteers including Criminal Justice Champions (CJCs)
• Promoting the work of the service through events and presentations
• Providing training and awareness sessions to partner agencies including Humberside Police
• Maintaining and developing our online presence including updating website information and controlling our social media accounts
• Income generation and identifying fundraising opportunities

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who is motivated, engaging and innovative. You will play an integral part in developing and embedding our Criminal Justice Champion (CJC) and Victim Friendly Organisation (VFO) programmes across Humberside to ensure that victims have a voice within the criminal justice system and organisations are promoting victim's rights and voices.

You will attend events, network with other agencies and develop and deliver presentations to both internal and external colleagues, community groups and other identified audiences. This means that although the role is home-based, regular travel is required within Humberside and occasionally across the wider region.
