As part of the Getting Help team, you will provide social and practical support to adults with common mental health problems in a range of settings across Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale (HMR). This includes assessment and support planning, and community outreach. Typically, Community Engagement Workers support people who are on the waiting list for or who are engaging in Talking Therapy. With a UK General Election due within the next 10 months, there are going to be more opportunities than ever for young people to better understand and participate in the democratic system.
The post holder will manage our ‘Exploring Elections’ programme which supports young people to register to vote in schools and colleges. The post holder will recruit and manage a network of freelance facilitators to deliver in-person voter registration workshops and events. This role will also include some delivery of in-person and online presentations and workshops to support young people to register to vote and to vote.
You will also work with the Director and Democracy Classroom Project Coordinator to support the delivery of training for teachers and youth practitioners so they can help their young people engage in the General Election and democracy.
The post holder will:
- Recruit, manage and support a group of freelance facilitators across the UK who will deliver voter registration activities.
- Deliver in-person and online workshops and assemblies for young people.
- Support the delivery of training for teachers and youth practitioners.
- Support the recruitment of teachers and schools to take part in voter registration activities.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with our network of teachers and youth practitioners.

The job is based on a fixed term 6 month contract (including a 3-month probation period), with opportunities for extension.
The Politics Project is based in London and the post holder will be expected to work from the office at least two days a week, as well as delivering in schools and colleges as required. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required. This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team.

This role is based within the Wiltshire DVPP (Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme) Team which delivers domestic abuse services across Wiltshire.
This position is based within our Behaviour Change team and focuses on working with low to medium risk perpetrators of domestic abuse on a one-to-one basis, with the aim of supporting people to change their behavior.
In addition, you will support the delivery of the CPR (Choosing Positive Relationships) Domestic Violence Perpetrator Programme (DVPP), which is an intensive behaviour change programme, designed to increase knowledge and understanding around domestic abuse, the impact on children and healthy relationships. The course teaches tools and strategies to help someone change their behaviour. The CPR group will require weekly evening work in Wiltshire.
The key duties for this role are to:
- Co-facilitate the delivery of our CPR perpetrator group-work programme one evening per week.
- Deliver one to one support sessions for perpetrators based around: understanding domestic abuse, managing aggressive behavior, recognising the impact that abuse has on others.
- Work closely with the rest of the Behaviour Change to promote a ‘whole family approach’ to addressing domestic abuse and prioritise safety for the victim.
- Work closely with multi-agency partners, particularly Children’s Social Care, ensuring a focus on risk and safeguarding.

You are outcome focused, with a collaborative and flexible approach, you're great at motivating and inspiring others, adept at managing conflicting priorities, negotiate with tact and diplomacy and have good investigation skills. You will also need skills in managing conflicting demands and priorities, motivating staff and delegating work, as well as a good understanding of managing client risk and safe working practices. A relevant professional social care qualification to support your experience would also be an advantage.

For example, you will be directly involved in exciting projects like developing a Built for Zero approach in defined areas and supporting our charity partner Lloyds Banking Group to develop their approaches to ending homelessness too.

- Deliver the charity’s vision and mission through appropriate plans and in accordance with agreed policies and protocols.

You’ll be joining at a pivotal time for our charity. Having recently secured our core statutory income for the next 3 to 5 years we’re now looking to use that as a launchpad to grow and develop new and existing services. We’ll be starting the new year with the unveiling of a fresh new look having recently agreed a rebrand of the charity, alongside which we’ll be launching our new website, increasing the number of people who can access our services and support. There’s lots going on!
You’ll have a crucial role to play in all of this, raising significant levels of income to support existing and new ways of meeting the changing needs of carers of all ages. It’s a challenging role, no doubt about it, but you’ll be working with and supported by a great team of people all passionate about what we do. So, if you’re passionate about what you do and like to get stuck in and make a difference then you’ll fit in well.
You’ll be a dynamic, creative person with proven experience in developing and implementing a fundraising strategy to drive income growth and achieve ambitious targets across a range of income streams: Grant making Trusts, Corporates, Individuals, to name a few. You’ll be managing and nurturing our Trust Fundraiser as well as working with the Senior Leadership Team, agreeing our fundraising priorities.

We would also consider people to join our Bank team which is £12 per hour, plus holiday pay accrual and paid training, working shifts as and when they are available on a zero hour basis.
