Community Action Malvern & District is a registered charity that has been serving the Malvern area since 1972 and we aim to combat social isolation by connecting people through transport and other community projects delivered by volunteers. We currently have 10 staff, over 100 volunteers,  a Men’s Shed, a volunteer recruitment project, and a small fleet of accessible minibuses and wheelchair vehicles.

Share Community is seeking a Chair for our Board of Trustees, and up to three further Trustees to fill upcoming vacancies on our Board.

Role: Chair, Share Community

The Chair is a crucial role for Share, working closely with the Chief Executive to provide inspirational leadership, and ensure the charity delivers its mission and vision. Alongside all the other trustees the Chair will provide oversight of the Charity’s governance and strategic direction.

The principal responsibilities of the Chair include:

Role: Trustee, Share Community

Share’s trustee team has responsibility for overseeing strategy and performance. Share currently has ten trustees, and in light of some current trustees coming to the end of their term, is looking to recruit three more with the enthusiasm, skills and commitment we need to help guide Share through the next phase of its development.

Prospective Trustees must have a commitment to Share’s vision and values, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of disabled people. Share is particularly keen to encourage applications from individuals with specific experience of:

Share is a charity based in Wandsworth and Lambeth, working with adults with learning disabilities and autism.

The story of Share began in 1972, when a group of disabled people came together as a self-help group to improve employment and training opportunities for disabled people. Over the years, Share has grown and evolved, responding to changing needs and opportunities.

The Island Lead Volunteer is a key volunteer leadership role within Scouting with responsibility for providing outstanding management and support for the groups within the County. The primary focus for the Island Lead Volunteer is to ensure that Scouting is able to reach every young person in Jersey; open to all regardless of faith, colour or social background, because we believe Scouting has the ability to change lives.

What will you be doing?

Expression of Interest to become a World Horse Welfare Trustee

Volunteering for World Horse Welfare comes in many different forms, from lending a hand at one of our farms, to providing administrative support at our Head Office.

Another way individuals can provide voluntary support is by joining our Council of Trustees – an elected group of professionals responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of our charity. Trustees are not expected to take part in the day-to-day running of the organisation, but as a group they are responsible for its general control and are required to act in its best interests. Could you be our next Trustee?

For over 50 years, Coeliac UK have been the experts on coeliac disease and the gluten free diet. We help people living without gluten to live happier, healthier lives. 

We do this by providing our 60,000 plus members and around 1 million stakeholders with trustworthy advice and support, funding critical research into coeliac disease, working with healthcare professionals to improve diagnosis and championing better availability of gluten free food. We do it all so that one day, no one’s life will be limited by gluten. 

We have an income of approximately £4m and a team of around 55 staff, all led by our highly experienced CEO. The charity is governed and guided by a team of volunteer Trustees who provide their expertise and insight to help drive the charity forward. 

We have vacancies coming up for two Trustees committed to what we do, and able to contribute to our complex agenda in a fast changing environment. 

We are ideally looking for Trustees with experience in law (corporate/trademark/IP), food industry (manufacturing/retailing), and research (medical/scientific). If you also have charity sector experience, so much the better. However, if you think you have any helpful experience for us, please do apply. Even if your skills aren’t exactly what we are looking for in a Trustee right now, this can change, and meanwhile you may be able to help us in other ways. 

It’s an exciting time to join us as we think about our next strategic phase and what we need to do to increase our effectiveness and impact for our beneficiaries.
