WEB DEVELOPER

• We are looking for a Web Developer who is proficient in using Bubble.io to update design of the website, fix bugs and improve UX.

At Teenage Helpline, we are a tight-knit community of people who are passionate about make a difference in the lives of young people across the UK �� 

Teenage Helpline is an online peer-to-peer mentoring service for young people. We can act as the first stepping-stone for young people who do not feel comfortable seeking support for themselves, or who need a listening ear to help them cope with personal issues. 

All of our volunteers and employees are remote workers. We have great systems in place to allow our employees and volunteers to get to know each other, work effectively together and do great work! 

We are a flexible organisation that values the contributions of everyone. We will never ask more from our volunteers and employees than they can give, but we are sure to celebrate and recognise their efforts. 

About the role

As a Digital Innovations Developer, you’ll be part of our dynamic team dedicated to uncovering the next big digital breakthroughs.

The role involves communication with other Teenage Helpline team members; researching new technologies; reviewing and updating existing application portfolio; prototyping; developing solutions; creating technology education and awareness material for volunteers and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities 

• Turn concepts into reality. Build prototypes, test hypotheses, and iterate.
• Strong familiarity with and use of Microsoft 365 and Azure products.
• Exploring new opportunities with low/no code products such as those in the Microsoft portfolio, making the most of opportunities to provide more value for the charity.
• Investigate emerging technologies that could have a use case within our charity, primarily supporting our volunteers.
• Develop and maintain web and mobile solutions using cutting-edge technologies. 
• Create responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
• Develop technology use cases and collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions and update existing applications and processes.
• Create awareness around new technologies being adopted by the charity, highlighting value.
• Engage in cross-disciplinary discussions, brainstorming sessions.

Description

Numberfit is a social enterprise that works to make Maths learning fun and engaging for children across all age groups. We are looking to grow our reach and with this our team.

We would like the volunteer to work with us to redesign and simplify our existing website, creating a clear and enjoyable user journey.

Some of the tasks we are looking for UI/UX Design volunteers to help us with are:

• Coordinate with the core team on issues like navigation, page routing, product page design, and more
• Develop mock-ups for our development and design teams.

You will be working in the Design team, where visual assets such as the Numberfit logo will be provided to you. You will also work with the lead developer, who oversees the administration of the Numberfit website on WordPress and the development of web applications across Numberfit products.

What are we looking for? 

We are looking for a volunteer who has experience in: 

• UI/UX design
• Adobe Illustrator
• Creating low- and high-fidelity prototypes on paper and in digital prototyping tools, such as Adobe XD or Sketch.
• Experience working to design briefs and within branding guidelines.
• Has the ability to quickly understand our needs
• Can ask key questions to enable us to clarify requirements
   

The volunteer must also:

• Have high attention to detail and strive for accuracy throughout their work. 
• Understand the resource constraints of a small organisation and be able to work with these
• Be open to feedback 
   

Desirable:

• Knowledge of HTML and CSS would be advantageous.
• An appreciation of responsive web design would be invaluable. This means you are able to create digital assets at different image resolutions and appropriate file formats to cater to different device viewports, and you understand how different viewports require changes to the sizing, positioning, and arrangement of content on web pages.
• Educated to a Bachelor's degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience. A design graduate with excellent design thinking skills and industry experience in UI/UX design would be beneficial.
• Experience working with user interface component libraries.

 A wholly-owned subsidiary of the Quality of Life Foundation, QOLF Trading Ltd is a commercial entity whose purpose is to:

• provide income for the charity

• further the charity’s objects to expand the evidence base and promote best practice in the housing and development sector. 

The Role

The role of the Board of Directors is to set QOLF Trading Limited’s strategic direction, monitor the delivery of its objectives, and uphold its values and governance. 

For this role, we are specifically looking for someone with a commercial / consultancy background. The appointed Director will sit on the QOLF Trading Limited Board with the Foundation’s Director, Matthew Morgan, and at least one of the Foundation’s trustees. 

Key responsibilities of the Director:

• Set and monitor QOLF Trading’s strategic direction and business plans. 

• Monitor financial performance for sustainable growth.

• Approve and oversee annual budgets.

• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance, ensuring governance and performance are of the highest possible standard. 

• Manage risks, conflict of interests and internal controls.

• Assess and address conflicts of interest, ensuring QoLF Trading’s activities do not compromise the charitable status and reputation of QoLF.

• Represent QoLF Trading among key stakeholders, sharing its aims, findings and achievements to further establish its profile and business opportunities. 

• Work in close partnership with other Directors and QoLF staff.

Commitment

The QOLF Trading board meets online for one hour on the first Monday of every month. Directors are appointed for an initial term of two years. The position is unpaid, but reasonable expenses will be covered.

  Exam Star Learner is an educational charity. We are on a mission to address the lack of access to personalised learning support for underprivileged youth. We aim to deliver personalised and affordable tutorials in Maths, English, Science, and French to underachieving and disadvantaged children and young people. About the opportunity

We are on the lookout for twelve driven and passionate individuals to join our team as Voluntary Marketing Officers. This shared role is designed to devise and execute an all-encompassing marketing strategy to engage parents and schools via various channels. Work Schedule

This is an unpaid and voluntary role. Each candidate should not work more than 20 hours per week, but there is flexibility to accommodate the needs and schedules of team members.
