Purpose of the job:
This key role in our fundraising team will be integral in helping the team meet our ambitious targets. Working predominantly on Trusts and Foundations applications, leading the development and submission of high-quality proposals, with opportunities to work across additional income streams. The postholder will be responsible for securing grants, developing relationships, providing excellent stewardship to funders, and working collaboratively with colleagues.
Key responsibilities include:

Main Responsibilities:

· Ensure all services marketing activity is brand compliant and aligned to Family Action’s corporate priorities, as well as meeting the needs of the specific service.
· Manage the production of marketing collateral using design tools/software and/or Family Action templates. This will include copywriting, proof reading, image selection.
· Liaison with and management of external suppliers, such as designers and printers, when appropriate. Management of the production process on behalf of the service/s you work for and budget management.

· Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering a range of successful marketing and communications activity across multiple channels and for a variety of stakeholders.
· Experience of working within a corporate visual identity and translating that for multiple uses.
· Experience of materials development, e.g. writing, editing, proofreading, design (including the use of design software).
· Some understanding of website design and delivery, e.g. developing content, navigation, accessibility, SEO.
· Experience of managing external consultants and suppliers, e.g designers, printers.
· Experience of managing projects to be delivered on time and in budget.
· A marketing or design qualification or similar experience, and evidence of a commitment to continuing learning and professional development.

Responsibilities:
Policy and public affairs
- Receive and respond to initial enquiries from funders and stakeholders, using e-mail, telephone and web communication channels. As part of this be responsible for monitoring the various inboxes for the Scottish Membership (including grants inbox and main email inbox) as well as those in boxes for funders and other stakeholders.
- Deal with straightforward enquiries directly. For more complex enquiries, gather any additional information needed to deal with the issue, pulling in support from colleagues where necessary.
- Log interactions with members and stakeholders on Salesforce, ensuring that any further action is taken by department colleagues or other AdviceUK colleagues
- Create and maintain up-to-date documentation and training resources for key Policy & Public Affairs systems and processes e.g., funder reporting; stakeholder mapping
- Create and manage Policy and Public Affairs leads and opportunities on Salesforce.
- Use Salesforce to maintain accurate records of the people and organisations AdviceUK works with, and their use of member benefits and services
Supporting members and stakeholders in Scotland
- Support the Scotland Development Manager with the administration of Scotland-focussed member benefits, including member forums, newsletters and other events. Do so using established systems and processes; by working in close collaboration with the Membership Team and Marketing and Communications Team.
- Provide general administrative support that enables the Scotland Development Manager to deliver required objectives in Scotland.

Role description and purpose
The post-holder will be responsible for the successful leadership and management of CPA’s portfolio of programmes in line with the strategic direction set by the Council and Trustees. Reporting directly to the CEO, the post-holder will be a key member of the senior management team, leading the Programme/Project Management team and working with the Finance Manager, Communications Lead, Research Lead, Advisors and other key staff to develop and deliver CPA programmes across the Commonwealth and beyond. This will include strategic planning, project and team management, development of workplans and budgets, provision of leadership, good governance and oversight of all programme-related activities. Background
Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3000 children in 2023-24.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.

Job Summary
Chapter One is seeking a West Cumbria Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able to both motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to disadvantaged communities is maximised throughout the academic year.
The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base and who is able to travel frequently around West Cumbria. The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers
• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms
• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others
• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up
• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom
• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles
• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed
• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise
• Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends
• Create monthly data summaries for all participating classrooms
• Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools
