The Health & Safety Manager is part of the Operations, Risk & Compliance (ORC) team, a key component of Corporate Services, and delivers a comprehensive and high-quality service across the organisation. As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all aspects of health and safety protocols and procedures for our office-based and remote employees, visitors, contractors, and volunteers. Your primary objective will be to ensure compliance with all health and safety related regulations while fostering a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement. You will appreciate the balance of compliance with the law, and the needs of our stakeholders. Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

· Responsibility for inputting into and executing operational plans, and for the operational performance, of the health and safety of the organisation.

· Undertaking operational activities that require good judgement, creativity, and pragmatism, with autonomy and accountability.

· Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures.

· Conduct regular risk assessments according to the needs of the business, including new and expectant mothers, events, health conditions, office assessments, DSE etc.

· Provide guidance and support to employees at all levels on health and safety matters, including training programs and awareness campaigns.

· Keep abreast of changes in health and safety legislation and regulations and ensure company compliance.

· Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.

· Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities, including incident reports and training records.

· Devise and maintain regular reporting and metrics for organisational use.

· Collaborate with other departments to integrate health and safety considerations into business operations and planning.

· Coordinate with external vendors, such occupational health providers, as necessary.

· Act as a liaison between employees and management regarding health and safety concerns, ensuring that all voices are heard and addressed.

What we are looking for:

· NEBOSH Diploma or degree in occupational health and safety.

· Experience in health and safety management in an office setting.

· Pragmatic and balanced approach to compliance.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

· In-depth knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and best practices.

· Confidence in presenting / communicating to groups of people and / or senior leadership.

· Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant software applications.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

We are looking for an Interim External Affairs Manager to help lead our communications activities from 24 June 2024 to 31 December, while our permanent External Affairs Manager is on sabbatical. This is a particularly exciting time to join the team, as we seek to maximise our impact ahead of the next general election and develop our strategy for the next few years. 

The successful candidate will help to manage the day to day work of the External Affairs team, including supporting colleagues to enhance our reach on social media and digital channels, deliver our events programme and deepen our impact with key audiences.

The Hepatitis C Trust develops projects nationally where peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training, increase hepatitis C awareness, and access to testing and treatment for people living with hepatitis C. 

Working with the South West Peninsula ODN, The Hepatitis C Trust are now expanding this commitment through the introduction of the HCC (Hepatocellular Carcinoma) surveillance and early liver disease detection programme.

Working under the guidance of the South West Peninsula Peer Programme Manager, the post-holder will work alongside other identified partners to help develop a community outreach liver surveillance program and carry out HCC early detection activity and interventions across Plymouth.

Knowsley Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice, and a voice for carers living and caring in the Borough of Knowsley.

Knowsley Carers Centre is a growing charity, established in ~October 1997 to support the borough's 16000 unpaid/family carers.

A highly motivated and experienced person is required to raise awareness of the issues unpaid carers face with staff from the health and social care sectors.

Proven experience of the sector and an understanding of unpaid carers’ issues are essential along with the ability to work independently.

Job purpose

The purpose of the role is to raise awareness of the issues carers and young carers face and the services available to support them to health and social care staff across the borough and promote the identification and support of hidden carers in Knowsley.

The Health Link Worker will provide a conduit between Knowsley Carers Centre, health and social care teams and appropriate networks and forums that support carers’ interests.

Job Description

The Health Link Worker will:

• Provide information for and about carers and young carers to GP practices and health and social care teams.
• Assist in maintaining carers’ information boards in GP practices and at other health and social care locations.
• Continue to promote good practice guidance and steer relevant personnel at GP practices and other health settings through the guidance framework.
• Provide presentations, training and talks to health and social care staff on carers needs and include all aspects of caring within the awareness raising.

People Department 2024

The successful candidate will work with the Head of the Gambling Action Lab (GAL) and the Senior Research Officer to bring together a handful of representatives from financial services firms to explore ways to reduce gambling-related financial harms. They will build and maintain stakeholder relationships and play a key role in facilitating group discussions with financial services representatives. This exciting role will also involve driving and promoting the work and visibility of the GAL, and planning and delivering a programme of events to promote our work.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation. We are a growing team, and with momentum building to address gambling-related harms, our work has never been so vital. In this position, you will play an important role in helping us to further understand the links between money, mental health problems and gambling harms and work with firms and stakeholders to develop practical solutions that lead to real change.

The full-time equivalent salary is either £41,283 at the Senior Officer level or £32,915 at the Officer level.

This role can be offered as London-based or remote (with twice-monthly travel to the London office) and either full-time (37.5 hours over 5 days) or part-time (minimum 30 hours over 4 days a week).

This will be a busy, varied and important role working closely with the Head of Campaigns and Communications to identify opportunities to influence external policy to better support and represent the needs of those with endometriosis. You’ll have a sound knowledge of the UK political landscape and how to influence it and will play an important role in developing our campaigns. We are looking for social media officer to support the Health Equals team to deliver an exciting programme of campaigning work.

The post holder will play a crucial role in helping Health Equals to build its online presence and following, supporting its objective to raise awareness of how our health is shaped by the building blocks of health. As well as driving engagement to our public campaigns, the successful candidate will lead on creating and curating compelling evidence-based content from Health Equals members.

The social media officer will be adept at finding opportunities to reach broader audiences, to amplify messages, build relationships and engage in debates in innovative ways with opinion formers and influencers online.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of our current team of 11 working across:

• Content creation, scheduling and channel management. This will include creating impactful written social media content, tailored across Health Equals social media channels.
• Monitoring social media, including identifying opportunities to build awareness of Health Equals, our members and our campaigns.
• Track, analyse and report on social media metrics to assess the performance of our content, and use insights to make recommendations for improvement in engagement and reach.
• Work to develop our online community engagement and influencer outreach.
