About the role
Our Individual Giving programme includes cash appeals, regular giving, weekly lottery, retention pieces (including a supporter magazine), and more.
We need your help to deliver insight-led creative campaigns across print media for a mass donor audience, aiming to grow supporter loyalty and inspire repeat donations and repeat actions across our products. You will use data to test and learn, optimising opportunities for our community to support.
You’ll join the small but mighty Individual Giving team, aiming to raise over £1.3 million in 2024/25, with ambition to grow in the future. Together with the Mass Engagement and Fundraising team, we strive to raise money to improve the lives of people with arthritis.

Main purpose of post
This role will lead our individual giving campaigns ensuring key audiences see the impact of the charity and are motivated to donate to support the continuation of our work. It will build on existing successful campaigns, including our Christmas Star appeal, and create new and engaging additions. You will ensure the donor journey is sensitive, engaging and straightforward and place a high importance on the ongoing stewardship of donors.
You will report to the Head of Fundraising and work alongside our Fundraising Team to ensure plans align and budget targets are achieved. You will work closely with the Campaign Manager and Data Manager to target individual giving effectively across South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and North Derbyshire.
This is the perfect role for anyone who loves to plan and see those plans through to completion, who has excellent customer care skills and who is digitally savvy. You will enjoy working as part of a busy fundraising team and collaborating to achieve collective success.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and implement the individual giving donor journey to increase the charity’s individual gifts including regular and pay roll giving.
· Lead the creation of fundraising individual giving campaigns to recruit new donors, retain existing supporters and grow reach, engagement and income.
· Lead the development of new individual giving campaigns, working closely with the Campaign Manager, to deliver direct marketing campaigns across various channels, which enhance current supporters understanding of the difference their donation makes and also encourages new supporters to donate to our cause and projects.
· To create new individual giving income opportunities, including introducing a charity lottery.
· Review and evaluate campaigns against income and impact success factors and implement improvements.
· Maximise all gift aid opportunities within the agreed audiences.
· Be responsible for an income target of a minimum of £300,000 per annum.
· Manage relationships with existing supporters to ensure a high level of donor care is achieved whilst achieving and maximising income opportunities.
· Analyse and segment the charity's supporter base, developing appropriate supporter journeys and propositions, and the effective use of supporter data for campaign purposes.
Utilise digital methods and platforms for new donor acquisition
· To assist in the delivery of a range of donor, supporter and staff engagement events throughout the year in line with our donor recognition & stewardship plan.
· Contribute to development of the fundraising annual plan to drive forward the charity’s ambitious plans for change and growth in line with the 3 year strategy.
· Ensure that all activities and contacts are managed through the charity’s CRM (Raiser’s Edge).
· Ensure all fundraising activity complies with laws and best practice governing charitable activity, most notably General Data Protection Regulations, Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice and charity law.
· Attend and contribute to team meetings and 'away days' and be an active, invested member of our team.
· Ability and willingness to travel throughout the region to attend charity fundraising events.
· Able to work flexibly, including occasionally working in the evenings and at weekends.

The fundraising team at EIA, is responsible for raising income across trusts and statutory funders, as well as raising funds from individuals. We are seeking an experienced candidate with a great understanding and knowledge of individual giving, who shows great leadership skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to maximise opportunities to achieve organisational growth.
The role will manage the Donor Acquisition Fundraiser and In-Memory Fundraiser and be responsible for the overall delivery of our individual giving strategy.
As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and implementation of our individual giving programme of fundraising and activities, aimed at individuals. It will be the Individual Giving Manager’s responsibility to generate significant income through individual gifts, campaigns and appeals, regular giving, in memoriam giving, lottery and legacies, and to increase activity and income from these sources.
Your primary focus will be on recruiting new donors, retention through a gold standard supporter journey and income growth for these vital areas of fundraising, all while leading a dedicated team. You will be responsible for delivering innovative and creative appeals as well as supporting the fundraisers responsible for in-memory and donor acquisition to achieve their targets and objectives.
Individual Giving is a growing income stream for Birmingham Hospice, and this have been recognised by the Executive Team who are investing in this area, in particular regular giving and legacies.

Harris Hill has an opening for an experienced Individual Giving Manager to join a health related charity for 3 months, but potentially longer to cover recruitment period.
Following the completion of a 5 year plan, the organisation has decided to invest in Individual Giving as it has been noted there is lots of room for improvement, one of which is dividing the team into separate retention and acquisitions teams. This will focus on the retention side. They will be recruiting permanently but need someone quite experienced to get the ball rolling on an interim basis.
As an IG Manager, you will be required to hit the ground running but also be quite hands on, ready to roll your sleeves up when needed. The role is hybrid based with one day per week in the office. They have two offices. One in central and the other in south London which could work well for someone commuting in from the Surrey and the south.
The client is willing to offer a daily rate on a PAYE basis of £164-200 per day, plus holiday pay, which would be payrolled via the agency. You could choose an umbrella company if you wish.

What’s on offer:

The Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for reaching new supporters, developing and implementing engaging and innovative marketing activities that attract a range of new donors for the charity. They will use a variety of channels including digital, face-to-face and DRTV, and work with teams across the charity to ensure the impact of all activity is maximised.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with the Head of Individual Giving and Legacies create and review plans to deliver strategies within agreed income and cost thresholds, generating sustainable year on year growth.
- Working with the finance business partner prepare financial business cases to drive the development of the supporter acquisition strategy. Make the case for new fundraising methods with clear understanding of ROI, supporter acquisition cost, and channel payback models.
- Monitor performance against budget: ensure financial targets are met, monitor any shortfalls, and take remedial action as necessary.
- Experience of Individual Giving and acquisition programmes.
- Manage agency and supplier relationships - including with creative agencies, list brokers, media buyers, fulfilment houses and external professional fundraising organisations - to deliver agreed plans and campaigns.
