Who we are
For over 40 years, Being There, a medium sized charity, has provided practical, emotional and social support to those affected by life limiting illnesses across much of Greater Manchester. The services of the Charity are delivered by an enthusiastic cohort of volunteers managed by an established and capable management team.
Our culture and values
Our mission is to provide relief to people affected by cancer or other life-limiting illness, with the help of volunteers. Being There operates and focuses its activities on people living in the Greater Manchester Area.
Our board, staff and volunteers work together because of their commitment to improve the experience of people with life limiting illnesses. This means that we are willing to give our time to reduce isolation, reduce the day to day concerns that can preoccupy people with life limiting illnesses and their carers. We are caring, patient and generous with our time.
