Registered Home Manager
The Brendoncare Foundation are recruiting for a Home Manager to take the helm at our brand new 60 bed home in Winchester which opened in September 2023. St Giles View is set in landscaped gardens and enjoys stunning views of the South Downs. Leisure facilities include a café/restaurant, hair and beauty salon and community spaces.
Ideally you will hold a valid NMC Pin, although this is not mandatory for this role. You will be supported by two Deputy Managers who are Registered Nurses.
What will I be doing?
- Leading, empowering and motivating multidisciplinary teams in a people-led, compassionate way
- Prioritising the best quality care for all residents at all times
- Meeting the social, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our residents
- Supporting teams to design and deliver thorough and holistic care plans across a range of complexities
- Empowering residents and team members to take part in decision making processes
- Forming and maintaining meaningful relationships across the charity and the wider community
- Building and nurturing relationships with relatives and loved ones of residents
- Working with statutory bodies and health agencies in an open and constructive way
- Meeting and exceeding legal, statutory and regulatory standards and objectives

What do I need to have to apply?
- Recognised professional qualification - Management of Social Care/Health/Housing (e.g. MBA, NVQ 5, ILM 5, RMA, Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, RGN or RMN)
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager of complex services
- A thorough understanding of complex care of vulnerable adults including people living with Dementia
- Experience of managing financial plans and budgets
- Experience of leading, coaching and motivating large, multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge and understanding of social care and health issues
- Proven positive track record with external agencies & stakeholders (e.g. CCG, LA)

Purpose of the job/About the role
Join Dementia UK as a Governance Officer, where you will provide comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality administrative support for risk, compliance, and governance matters.
As part of the Governance, Compliance and Risk team, you will help ensure a robust governance framework is in place across the Charity. You will support the Head of Governance, Compliance, and Risk in maintaining effective governance processes, policy frameworks, and establishing high levels of corporate governance practices. You will also work under the direction of the Company Secretary on governance matters and administrative support.
Your responsibilities will include attending meetings, ensuring effective record-keeping, and taking accurate minutes when appropriate. This will also involve arranging meetings, collating papers, prioritising diaries, and managing associated tasks.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an administrative role, including the administration of formal meetings and minute-taking. You should have excellent written and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Strong organisational and work management skills, along with the ability to prioritise tasks, are essential.

About the role
Location: Community based in North/East Hampshire, with some homeworking elements. Occasional cover may be needed for all areas of Hampshire.
We are currently searching for a compassionate and dedicated team member for a rewarding opportunity as a Dementia Adviser. The successful individual will have the exciting opportunity to provide support and guidance to people with dementia and their carers in areas of North and East Hampshire; helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives. Our service is unique to each service user, created upon their personal circumstances and support needs. As a Dementia Adviser, you will offer knowledgeable support and guidance to your clients, that maybe in their own home, out in the community, by phone, letter, or email. The Sefton Dementia Support Service provides a highly responsive and individualised information, signposting and referral service to people affected by dementia.
You will;

About the role
Location: Community based working within the London Borough of Wandsworth, with some homeworking elements.
Contract: Fixed Term until January 2025.
You will provide a personalised and positive outcome-based service to individuals affected by dementia and memory loss symptoms. The service will identify their needs and the services they may require, support the improvement of their overall well-being, and enable them to take control of their lives. As a community-based worker, you will be required to attend a range of meetings, appointments and venues as well as working from home.

Salary: DP4 pay scale £24,700 - £26,870
Hours: 21 Hours - 35 hours per week for various posts.
Contract: Start date is June 1st 2024, and end date is May 31st 2027 with potential for an additional two year extension.

About the Role
Working at an enhanced practice level with support from senior colleagues to deliver a co-ordinated and comprehensive specialist dementia service to patients and their families/carers.
This will include developing knowledge, skills and experience with support from senior colleagues to undertake independent and autonomous practice: comprehensive holistic assessments, agreeing specialist palliative treatment management plans and advance care planning to be delivered through community and out-patient settings.
The post holder will develop to become an expert role model, supporting senior colleagues to deliver education and advice regarding dementia care issues to other health and social care professionals. Working with all members of the Hospice Dementia Team to stimulate and direct the development of clinical practice across the local community.
There is a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to drive and have access to appropriate transport during the course of normal duties.

About the role
Location: Office-Based in our Birmingham Office
Working alongside the Operations Business Support Team Leaders and the wider Operations Business Support Team, this role will be responsible for the delivery of printing services. This will be achieved through the running of a fast paced and reliable Print Room, ensuring that all outgoing documents are printed to a high standard and in accordance with Alzheimer’s Society brand guidelines.
The post will play a pivotal role in ensuring that people affected by dementia receive timely and professional communications from the services they access and that Alzheimer’s Society events and groups have all necessary publications required to promote and conduct their services. The role will also be responsible for the timely digitisation of paper records to enable effective archiving of Society data in line with information governance standards and data protection legislation.
About you
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Alzheimer’s Society staff and people affected by dementia have access to requested resources in a timely manner and to the highest standard.
You will:
- Be a team player, supporting colleagues and who knows when to ask for help themselves.
- Work well under pressure and independently.
- Be confident in using Microsoft 365 applications, specifically MS Teams, Outlook and Word.
- Have previous experience of working in a print room would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
- Possess the ability to prioritise work and meet tight deadlines.

Are you a good communicator and curious about people? We’re looking for an Involvement Assistant Apprentice to join the Involvement team and support activities that enable us to gather evidence to better understand peoples’ experiences, across the full spectrum of lived experience of dementia. You’ll support key involvement activities influencing local and national work, helping us to make the case for change as well working on projects that have a direct impact on people’s daily lives.
You’ll have the opportunity to take forward a project that will support the Alzheimer’s Society to reach and involve more people affected by dementia.
The apprenticeship is for 18 months and in this role, you will complete a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship.
About you
You will play a key co-ordination and support role within the Involvement Team. Working with colleagues, people living with dementia and their family, friends and carers in person and by telephone, email, via social media channels and over teams and zoom.
You’ll be supporting activities that enable people with lived and learnt experience to collaborate, sharing their knowledge, skills and opinions to help plan, shape and influence the work of Alzheimer’s Society.
Patience, empathy and a willingness to learn are essential skills. Someone who is self-motivated and has great interpersonal skills. You’ll be technically literate /IT proficient and interested in learning how to use our Dementia Voice Database.
6 hours per week will be dedicated to the apprenticeship and developing in the role.
At the end of the apprenticeship training, you will complete an End Point Assessment where you will present a portfolio of the work that you have completed that links to a set of competencies set at the start and you will present a specific project you have worked on.

About the role
Alzheimer’s Society’s Safeguarding and Quality team are looking for a Senior Quality Safeguarding Officer who will provide expert safeguarding advice, audit and quality assurance support in relation to safeguarding across Alzheimer’s Society, enabling our people to provide excellent, safe services to people affected by dementia. Working in a team of Quality Safeguarding Officers, the senior officer will take a leading role in holding and managing more complex caseload, providing support and expert advice to the team and deputising for the manager as required.
Senior Quality Safeguarding Officers will be safeguarding specialists with a strong knowledge base and competency in managing complex environments related to safeguarding in practice. They will be skilled in the development, delivery and implementation of quality assurance functions to ensure that safeguarding is of the highest quality. They will support teams delivering activities which support the Society’s understanding of the quality of the services it delivers to people affected by dementia to support in the delivery of excellence.
About you
This is an excellent opportunity to gain significant safeguarding experience, enhance safeguarding knowledge and learn new skills that can be used for career progression.
You will have:
- Experience of working within a safeguarding framework, an understanding of safeguarding and associated legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006, and an ability to relate them to practice.
- Experience of designing and delivering high quality, tailored safeguarding learning products and programmes, preferably within a health, social care, or charity setting.
- Strong networking and influencing skills, interpersonal presentation, promotion and communication skills.
- Confidence working on your own initiative as well as part of a geographically dispersed team.

Based within the largest directorate in the Society, Dementia Support and Partnerships, the role will form part of a small team of business managers ensuring effective, efficient and compliant delivery of all our activities across all departments and functions of the Directorate.
