Overview

Learn how to lead with integrity and inspire others with this ethical leadership training course. You will explore the principles and practices of ethical leadership in different contexts and scenarios, and develop your own moral compass.

Ethical leadership is more than just following the rules or avoiding scandals. It is about creating a positive impact on the people, the organisations, and the world around you. Ethical leaders are not only respected and trusted, but also admired and emulated.

In this course, you will discover the ethical leadership framework, a set of guidelines and tools to help you navigate the complex and often ambiguous situations that leaders face. You will also learn from real-life examples of ethical and unethical leaders, and analyse their actions and consequences.

The course is divided into five main topics:

Leadership, followership and ethical context: In this part, you will learn what it means to be a leader and a follower, and how ethics play a role in both. You will also discover your own ethical awareness and map your moral compass, a tool that will help you navigate the moral landscape.

Ethical leadership: In this section, you will learn how to apply the ethical leadership framework, a set of guidelines and tools that will help you lead with integrity and accountability. Additionally, you will explore the stories of Fred Rogers, a beloved TV personality who epitomised ethical leadership, and Scott Tucker, a payday loan mogul who exploited his customers.

Ethical team leadership: In this segment, you will learn how to create a culture of ethics and trust in your team. You will also examine the cases of Gregg Popovich, a successful basketball coach who built an ethical team, and Elizabeth Holmes, a fraudulent entrepreneur who deceived her investors and employees.

Ethical leadership of an organisation: You will learn how to align your organisation's vision, mission, and values with ethical principles. You will also investigate the cases of Gary Hirshberg, an organic food pioneer who balanced profit and purpose, and Michael Pearson, a pharmaceutical CEO who inflated drug prices and manipulated the market.

Ethical leadership in the world: Throughout this section, you will learn how to address the global challenges and opportunities that ethical leaders face. You will also compare the cases of Jacinda Ardern, a prime minister who showed compassion and courage during a crisis, and Rex Tillerson, a secretary of state who failed to uphold his diplomatic duties.

By the end of this course, you will have gained valuable insights and skills to become an ethical leader in any context. You will also have developed a personal action plan to apply what you have learned to your own leadership journey.
