BEfriend

Who we are

BEfriend has been operating in the London Borough of Ealing since 1994, and will now be expanding its work to the neighbouring borough of Hounslow! We are passionate about eradicating isolation and loneliness through creating connections. 

We work with some of the most amazing volunteers who give their time to visit and phone people who would otherwise go from week to week with no social contact. We love hearing the difference that befriending makes to both clients and volunteers alike!

What it's like to work with us

At BEfriend we are a small and friendly team. We get together in person once a month for a team meeting which involves tea, coffee and cake and the opportunity to share ideas and hear stories from eachother. 

A big part of our work is supporting people with mental health problems, and so mental health and wellbeing of staff is also very important at BEfriend. We speak about mental health openly as a staff team, and all look out for eachother. All staff have access to 24/7 support and counselling through our Employee Assistance Programme, and they are encouraged to make use of this.
