Who we are
The African Community School (ACS) is a registered charity that has been serving the community since January 2000. Located in Hackney, East London, ACS is also Ofsted registered, signifying its commitment to maintaining high educational standards and promoting a safe learning environment. The organisation's mission is to help those in need by building their confidence, teaching them new skills, and empowering them to gain employment.
ACS provides a variety of key services designed to meet the educational and vocational needs of both children and adults.
These services include:
- Saturday School: Held every Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm, this program offers students additional academic support and a chance to engage in cultural activities. It is tailored to reinforce what is learned in regular school while fostering a sense of community.
- Summer School: Operating on weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm, this program runs from late July to mid-August. It offers an intensive and immersive learning experience that combines academic with fun and cultural enrichment activities. This program is ideal for students seeking to make the most of their summer break.
- Accredited Adult Learning Classes: ACS provides accredited courses for adults seeking to gain new skills and qualifications. These classes are held on both weekdays and weekends to accommodate varying schedules. The goal is to help adults improve their employability and advance in their careers.
