NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, which on average takes 8 weeks to complete, aims to introduce learners to the approaches and techniques that can be used in everyday life and work. Gaining knowledge of the range of counseling skills can be helpful in all areas of your life, both personally and professionally. 

This course is open to both employed and unemployed learners (subject to eligibility requirements) being 19+ and living in London.

What you will learn

The main objectives are to: learn and develop counselling skills that can be used in a helping relationship, understand the different approaches involved in the use of counselling skills, learn the ethical framework of counselling and appreciate the importance of self-development.

This course also complements other courses we offer with the skills learnt such as the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid & Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace and NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Information, Advice & Guidance.

Course structure:

  • Unit 01 Using counselling skills (this involves a demonstration of your skills with the tutor) 
  • Unit 02 Introduction to counselling skills theories
  • Unit 03 Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills
  • Unit 04 Counselling skills and personal development
