Overview

This course covers a broad range of the practical tools and techniques which can be used by individuals and organisations to construct effective strategies to satisfy their chosen objectives. Recognising that organisations are fundamentally different in the way they operate and achieve objectives, the emphasis will be on the development of strategies that are context specific for the College and to deal with issues that the College faces.

This course is for those who currently have an input to strategic decision making within the College and those who are likely to do so in the forseeable future.

Aims & Objectives

By the end of this course you will:

  • Identify the best approach to strategy making in the College
  • Understand the external factors affecting the College
  • Conduct an internal appraisal of the College
  • Identify the strategic issues that face the College
  • Identify those stakeholders crucial to the successful implementation of options
  • Develop options that may resolve those identified issues
