Overview

Trauma informed practice: a course for frontline practitioners is an online blended training. It is for frontline workers who want to learn more about how to recognise and sensitively respond to people who have experienced trauma. In addition to exploring what a trauma informed approach looks like, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your practice. You will also take away some practical tools to help you respond in a more trauma informed way when you work with service users.

Individuals or people working for small charities/organisations (annual income below £200k) £50 

People working for medium charities/organisations (annual income over £200k and below £1million) £60 

People working for statutory organisations or charities with annual income over £1million £70

What you require

Eligibility/Who should attend?

This course is for anyone who works with people affected by gender based violence. This includes domestic abuse and sexual violence. You might want to attend if you work in: health, social care, housing, criminal justice, education or the women’s sector.

Format

This course is delivered online and involves self-guided learning and an interactive training session. A week before the session, you will receive the materials for you to work through in your own time and should take no longer than an hour to complete. The training session is tutor led and will last for three hours, including a 20 minute break. In our virtual classroom, you will explore some of the topics from the self-guided learning in more depth and cover new topics. The training session will involve tutor presentation, question and answer opportunities and group work activities.
