Overview

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Charities are becoming better at developing theories of change and using tools to collect information and feedback. Too often, the good work stops there, and the cycle of impact practice is broken. Charities (and funders) get stuck on what to do with their data (or that of their grantees), find it tricky to understand what it is telling them, and how they should make best use of it. You don’t need to be a data specialist to make good basic use of your data.

This training will help you to:

  • Develop simple quantitative data analysis skills, such as percentages and averages, and the pitfalls to watch out for.
  • Understand what statistical significance means, and how to interpret it
  • Develop basic qualitative data analysis skills
  • Understand how to present quantitative and qualitative data
  • Bring your data together and understand how to interpret it.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This session is aimed at those with limited prior experience of analysing data, and is focused on the basics of data analysis and presentation.
