About ActionAid
What makes ActionAid different?
Working for ActionAid is different to working with other charities. For a start, we’ve been around since 1973, so we’re one of the longest established and best respected charities in the UK. Many of our staff and partners around the world live in the communities in the 45 countries where we work across Africa, Asia and America.
Our approach is all about empowering people to claim their rights. And so our working relationships in the UK and across the world are based on mutual trust, respect and democracy.
As part of our commitment to women’s and girls’ rights, we recognise, embody and champion feminist principles not only in our work or what we do but also in the way we work and how we do things. Find out more about how we practise feminism at work.
If you like the sound of that, we can’t wait to welcome you on board. You can find out more about our mission and what we do in the UK
Our vision
We believe in the individual and collective power of women and girls to create a just and fair world.
It is a world imagined by social movements, particularly feminist and indigenous movements, centred around the care and wellbeing of people and the planet; and a world in which women and girls, in all their diversity, can achieve their goals, fulfil their rights and define their future.
Our mission
To achieve social justice, gender equality and eradication of poverty by working alongside communities, women’s rights organisations, activists, social movements, funding partners and supporters.
Our approach
We aim to address the challenges faced by women, girls and their communities by sharing power with women's rights organisations and feminist movements.
We do this by fostering equal partnerships and creating spaces where these movements can succeed.
Together, with women-led organisations and feminist movements, we work to draw attention to global injustices and advocate for meaningful, transformative change.
We offer a variety of different flexible working options, and therefore welcome applications from individuals who would like to explore flexible working.
